EXTREME HEAT!!!
Despite the best efforts of animal charities and Veterinary centres, the message still doesn’t seem to be getting through.
We are on our 5th animal of the day presenting with acute heat stress brought on by inappropriate care during this extreme heat. Two have died and three more are being treated.
Do not walk your dog today!!! Do not throw balls and allow them to run around the garden with children. They will NOT miss the exercise.
Feel free to share, even if this post makes one person double think their actions it will have been worthwhile!
It makes me cry. Poor dogs. Please copy and paste elsewhere.

Its like when you read about dogs being left in cars and the owners get really angry that someone has had the audacity to break in to release them. CRAZY! I'd love to lock them in a car and see how they feel.
ReplyDeleteI hope you don't mind but Id like to put my link on here as after a dreadful time I decided to blog again, I believe it will help.

Thanks Ilona. Tx
You're in. Looking forward to your posts.
DeleteThis is awful, people are so thick sometimes, we were at the car boot at the weekend and I saw some dogs which looked fit to collapse. x
ReplyDeleteWhy would you take a dog to a car boot sale anyway. Can't be much fun for them, trudging around seeing nothing but peoples legs and feet.
DeleteI know I really don't understand it, they probably think that is their exercise for the day, you can clearly see they are not enjoying being dragged around.
DeleteSome of these people are either stupid, ignorant or just plain selfish.
ReplyDeleteAll of those probably.
DeleteI have to walk my dog, even in this heat, but I make them very short, I try to keep in the shade as much as possible and I don't go out with her when the sun is at it's hottest.
ReplyDeleteYes, as above - we were at a car boot on Sunday and the amount of dogs being forced to trudge around was unbelievable! The dogs all looked thoroughly p'd off plus nowhere for a drink!! Stupidity! !
ReplyDeleteGreat Yarmouth police were called to two dogs in a car along the seafront on Sunday morning. Thankfully someone noticed and called them out as they wouldn't have lasted long in this current heatwave. Not sure what happened but they seized the dogs. I despair I really do.
ReplyDeleteThe mentality of some people is staggering.
DeleteI've walked my dogs today, they enjoyed it and didn't look distressed - it was a shady walk.I wouldn't leave them alone in a car though.I place cool coats on 2 of mine while travelling if it's hot and lovely Lily has a cool cloth draped on her back.Yesterday a lady told me she had put a cool coat on her little dog overnight and it had dried rigid and the poor dog was laying in it's basket next morning stiffened.Luckily it was ok x
ReplyDeleteWe get brutally hot and humid summers and every day there are announcements on the TV and radio about not leaving pets or children in the car! Some of the malls even started hiring people to remind you as you enter their parking lots - and yet - every year - both pets and babies die because people get careless or just don't think.
ReplyDeleteI think a lot of people don't think about the fact that the dogs are walking about in 'bare feet' on hot pavements and car parks. They should try removing their shoes and see if they can walk on it for half an hour or so!
ReplyDeleteIt breaks my heart when things like this happen to animals.People who do things like this should have the same done to them...Then they would know, just what it feels like.A warning isnt enough, because if they are that thick and cruel,it isnt going to stop them doing it again. The dogs should be taken from them as far as Im concerned, because if they do this in public who knows what the poor dogs life is like at home.xx
