To a pretty purple and greeny yellowy one.
The purple paint is a Crown matchpot from the Scrapstore. I've left the bottom black and painted it with acrylic. It's been given a protective coat of varnish. I had to back the fabric, also from the Scrapstore, with plain yellow as there was only just enough.
The fabric has purple in it, so it matches perfectly.

I am not a fan of rubbing and sanding down wood, so I won't be moving over to furniture restoration. This was nice to do, mainly because of the family connection, my Uncle Stan sat in this, but I wouldn't want to do anything bigger.
It's been nice weather most of the day, and just as I wanted to go out for a walk, the heavens opened. It's sunny now while I am eating my dinner so I had better go out when I have finished this.
Thanks for popping in, Toodle pip. ilona
What a brilliant upcycle, its cheery and useful. I follow a Frenchic fan club on FBook. Its amazing and I'm in awe what people do.
ReplyDeleteWhat a lovely chair and I'm sure you will remember your Uncle Stan when you sit in it. Hope you have a good walk.

Congratulations,it looks very sweet and you can look like a boss sitting in it,greetings from ann
ReplyDeleteIm sure your Uncle Stan would smile when he saw what you have done to his chair!.He was of the age where people would make do and mend and if I remember rightly an artist. So I think he would be very proud! It really is lovely.I have painted my old garden furniture that colour and it really does brighten a garden up.xx
ReplyDeleteI like the purple. I'm halfway through sanding an old stool, having to go slow because of an old shoulder injury that flares up. I do a bit then leave it for several months. It will eventually get painted in a teal green.
ReplyDeleteIt looks fab and I love the colour you did a great job. Be lovely in the Summer the garden and for use indoors
ReplyDeleteGreat job with that chair
