The last hour of my day at Bridlington. The tide is coming in so I walked to the Harbour to have a look at the boats.
It is very well laid out, there are walkways both sides of it. Leisure boats and fishing boats.
The pirate ship is on it's last journey out into the sea. Heading for that gap near the lighthouse.
Ahoy there, me hearties. It's a short trip, about ten minutes. I will pass on that, don't want to be seasick.
Here it comes back in again. Whisps of red in the sky as the sun goes down behind the clouds.
Heading to it's mooring place. Time to park up for the night.
The lights go on. No movements in the harbour now.
So it's goodbye to Bridlington. An enjoyable day out. I will be back, but not just yet. Lots more places to visit in 2022. Thanks for joining me on this trip. Some more explores to come. We'll catch up soon.

Our eldest son who's nearly 34 took his first steps in Bridlington on his first holiday. Coincidentally I also took my first steps there back in 1965 when my mum & dad took me on my first holiday.
ReplyDeleteGood memories for you then. I think Bridlington is one of those seaside towns that have changed very little over the years. Good old fashioned fun.
DeleteThere used to be a ship like that at Scarborough too - but it was a replica of the Golden Hind, rather than being a Pirate ship. The shops along the front in both towns seem similar too.

DeleteI remember the name Charlie Newbey n his sons...well over 47 years ago.When my Mam and Dad used to take me there as a kid.I came across a photo of me and my Dad on the cliffs at Flambourgh Head today.I was about 13/14 at the time.Such happy days and memories.Thank you Ilona,xx
ReplyDeleteI have done the north side of Bridlington. Walking around the coast at Flamborough is epic with some fabulous views of the cliffs.
DeleteI just loved the pirate ship!! Looks like a great place. You (we😉 that travel via blog with you) got to see so many great places. What a very nice place. Lots to walk about and see. I’m sure in the summer the place is packed with people. Good thing you took your visit now. Thanks again for asking us along. 😊😊

DeleteA few days ago you wrote about finding rubbish that had been fly-tipped and you had returned a couple of addressed package materials to the owner. Did you go back to the site to see if the rubbish had subsequently been removed? Interested to see if your clever idea worked.
ReplyDeleteI will mention that in the next post. I went walking in the area yesterday, and YES, the black bin bags have been removed. GONE. I think they were probably collected by the dumpers. The Council would have been on Christmas holidays at this time so would not have been working.
