Early morning walk to watch the sunrise

The moon was still visible this morning when I went out for another early walk. Yesterday I didn't take the camera, today I did.
Looking over to the east an orange glow was emerging. Was this going to be a spectacular sunrise.

I kept looking over to the left as I walked.
The glow was definitely spreading.
Then the orange faded and splashes of red emerged, fighting for space among the clouds. Doesn't look promising. Maybe it was not going to be anything special.
Shades of pink and red started pushing through the clouds.
And then the orange came back. This looks promising.
By this time I was walking around the edge of the playing field. Looking good.
A few more minutes and the rising orange ball should be visible.
I turned to take a few snaps of the trees nearby. Lovely Autumn colours.

I made a video. The traffic was quite noisy, people were driving to work.
Oh wow, what a reward for my patience.
The climbing frame on the playground provides a frame for the sun.
After snapping away I set off back towards home. Walking away from the sun, I couldn't resist stopping and looking back. The avenue of trees gave a mysterious feel to the scene.
Changing the zoom alters the colours.
This is my favourite. I waited until she was between two trees.

The figure standing in the bus shelter looks ghostly.
So pleased with these pictures. I was cold, didn't realise how cold until I had been standing around for half an hour. Back home for a bowl of hot porridge.
Thanks for popping in. Catch ya later.   Toodle pip.   ilona

  1. Some beautiful atmospheric shots there. I learnt yesterday that the full moon this month was called the Hunter's Moon. Arilx

    1. I look at the moon and it seems to radiate energy. When the sun rises and the moon fades away, I know all is well.

  2. You are very clever with that camera!!👏👏👏 Just catching things at the right moments.❤️ You certainly have an eye for photography👍 Always loved the Autumn the best. The colours, the frost on the trees and bushes and grass first thing in the morning, and the smell of the smoke of someone burning old leaves on a bonfire. Being cosy inside the house with a nice hot drink, when it’s cold and wet outside. ❤️❤️❤️❤️

    1. The camera is making me look at things more closely. There are hidden pictures everywhere.

    1. True. I'm sure there must be a facility to edit all the noise out, but I don't have that skill or knowledge. I will watch it again with all the sound muted.

  5. How long were you walking for? I’m taking inspiration from you and going to start walking for fitness and mental health.

    1. Hello Amanda. Walking and stopping to take photo's is not really proper walking to keep fit, unless you walk fast and whip the camera out to take a snap of an interesting feature. On this walk I was meandering and spent more time looking around me taking in the beautiful sights.

I am pleased that you are inspired to walk. I would suggest, if you can walk from home, set out once a day from your door, and walk briskly for half an hour. For it to have any benefit you need to do it once a day. It can be any time of the day, whenever you can fit it in. Follow the same route every day.

When you are comfortable with that, increase your time walking. Maybe 45 minutes, then one hour. Make a new route for these new times. A brisk walk for one hour is three miles. You don't need a gadget to record it. Please get started on this. It may seem a bit boring at first but think of it as a voyage of discovery to finding a new life for yourself. I find that all my concerns about the current situation dissolve when I am walking in the open countryside. Start today, don't put it off.
