Hello my little bloggeretts. Here is a video from Tuesday, views from the Humber Bridge.
How is your walking going? This is your chance to clock in with your miles. Are you doing the 1000 mile challenge? I am on 88 miles for January. Basically it's 84 miles per month if you are going for the full Monty. So 168 for two months.
Let us know how you are doing. Anybody joining in this time?
Thanks for popping in. Toodle pip. ilona

DeleteWatch out there are trolls about.
DeleteNo for me either…views might be good but the noise!
ReplyDeleteMy total for Jan is low, only 45 miles
That's fine. Do as much as you can.
DeleteCatherine in Ireland 94 miles so far
ReplyDeleteHi Catherine. Wow, fantastic. You've got off to a flying start.
DeleteFirst time ever commenting on your blog Ilona after following you for years. I've decided to join your walking challenge for this year and my total for January is 163km (101 miles). I am in Brisbane Australia and it's been extremely hot this month so I start my walk at 4am when it's a bit cooler. Cheers, Phyllis
ReplyDeleteHello Phyllis and welcome. Great total for January, despite the heat.
DeleteI am on 68 miles only. There was so much snow and then black ice for a week, I only went out when it was absolutely necessary. But I did a lot of snow shovelling, so my upper arms got some good workouts.
ReplyDeleteHilde in Germany
Good to see you back, Hilde. You did very well considering the difficult conditions that snow brings. We have been bombarded with doom and gloom reports of massive snow drifts, but it hasn't yet arrived.
DeleteDebi from Leicester.Lovely views there from the Humber Bridge.Beautiful sunset!...Well Im sadly lacking in my target.Hubby who was very keen for this at the end of December, has some what changed his mind, saying its too cold for him to go out walking.A couple of years back,he would do 5 miles with me easy, but things have changed so much and it is all since the Alzheimers was diagnosed last November. So each day, when I go to my Mams who needs daily care from me now,I am having to take the long route to get my miles in.So only 50 miles for me this month....but hoping to stretch that a bit in Feb.xx
ReplyDeleteHi Debi. You do so well to look after your mother. There are only so many hours in a day, so to fit some walking into a busy schedule is an achievement.
DeleteGood morning Ilona. I’m joining in this year and have walked 148 miles this month. I’m trying to get ahead so I have some miles in the bank as there’s often a crisis with my parents I have to deal with. I work out at the gym as well and am really seeing the benefits - weight loss, feel healthier and more toned and my blood pressure which was creeping up has returned to normal. I think exercise can avert a lot of health problems and after the events of the last four years I definitely don’t want to be a customer of the NHS.
ReplyDeleteGood morning boatgal. I knew you would be back. Your reports spur everyone else on, even me. I can't keep up with you. I am glad that you are feeling the benefits of regular exercise. It's fear of the NHS that keeps me going as well.

ReplyDeleteThe troll is back. No need for anyone else to see the drivel they send. This poor person is mentally challenged.

DeleteMore drivel.

ReplyDeleteGary from Ottawa
Well you certainly made up for it in the second half. Keep it up, Gary.

ReplyDeleteGo away.
DeleteGood evening fellow walkers…it has been really cold here this month but I have managed 65miles
ReplyDeletePierre from Edmonton
Well done, Pierre. The hardest part is stepping outside into the freezing cold, when you'd rather be sitting in a comfy chair in the warm.
DeleteI can sympathize with Pierre, here in Calgary the weather has been mad,, but 34 miles logged.
ReplyDeleteJen from Calgary
Thanks Jen. That's a good start. Only 11 months left to go. Plenty of time to add more miles.
DeleteHi everyone I have managed 64 miles in Jan, just recovering from an op but hoping to make up and reach the 1,000 miles by the end of the year , thanks Ilona for doing this , I do enjoy it !
ReplyDeleteHello Shelly. Take your time, don't rush. I hope your recovery continues well.
DeleteFirst time commenter here. I'm Steph from Australia but have lived in Southern USA for 20 years. Thought it was about time I start tracking my miles! 119 for January. Good luck to all!
ReplyDeleteCheers, Steph
Hello Steph, good to hear from you. Having a goal and documenting your progress will give you that little bit more incentive to carry on. From that start I can see that you will reach your target. Best foot forward.
DeleteAnother first time commentator here. I am at 75 miles for January.
ReplyDeleteSo happy to join in.
Sara from Bedford
137.1 miles Lynn USA
ReplyDeleteSo glad to be joining in with the challenge again. 79 miles in January.
