Quickie post

Good evening. Time is getting on, I'm ready for bed so just a quick post for tonight. I've had a couple of days away. Yesterday I went to Chesterfield. I parked my car on the canal about two miles away and walked into town. There was a 40's market on. The sun was shining, people were dressed up, music was playing and people danced. It was a great atmosphere.

Too tired to write any more, so I'll catch ya tomorrow. Toodle pip.   ilona

  1. Dear Ilona,

What a lovely looking event! Everyone seems to be enjoying themselves. That Fredrick's truck looks very neat, never seen anything like it before.

After getting a few pep talks from you through your youtube videos, I went on my first ever full day solo trip around town. Not because I had multiple tasks that needed to be done, but just for the fun of it. I had a general idea of where I wanted to go and what I wanted to do but made no solid plans, and it felt amazing. I did what I want when I wanted and left when I felt like it.

I did not realize how much of a difference there would be between a group trip out and about and soloing it. I felt so much more calmer and could actually absorb what was going on around me. I was shocked that I even had a few quick conversations today with strangers. I very rarely get that when I am in a group outing with family and it was refreshing being able to talk to strangers outside of those I meet at work.

    Have a great day Ilona,

    1. Thank you Carrie. Your words are music to my ears. Stepping out on your own can be very liberating. No one to hold your hand. It's where you get to make your own decisions. Stop and start when you like. No distractions of other people nattering in the background. You can switch your brain off and retreat into your own little world. Think about how I felt when given a loaded lorry and told off you go, you're on your own now. Scary yes, but exciting at the same tome. Think about how I set off for a long walk, with a rucksack on my back and a set of maps. Now which way shall I go, and where will I find a bed for the night. At the end of the first long walk, 137 miles in 7 days, I felt proud of myself that I had done it. Each small achievement paves the way for the next one. Do it for you, Carrie.
