This isn't really a laughing matter, what is happening in the Chanel will have serious consequences.
But no sweat, this tickled my fancy. We'll put a load of pensioners in a boat and ship them off to a safe space. Wait for me!

EDIT
Just found this follow up video. If you really want to move to the Isle of Man, this is what you need to know. It all sounds lovely. There are some rules, but they make perfect sense.
Boy did that AI videos about pensioners in dinghies blow up! Thanks for all the views, comments and welcome to all new subscribers!
You can indeed escape to the Isle of Man from the UK and here's some more info about it. And yes, I am really here and we already really get people fleeing the UK and living here (much happier, usually).
I was determined to go out today, after the rain yesterday. It did forecast more for today, but never mind, I will take a chance. It was dry and bright when I set off at about 11am. Not far to go. Crowle is about half an hour away. They have an Agricultural Show on. I parked about a mile from the site, the plan was to go for a walk as well. I paid my £7 to get in. The field was massive, with a lot going on. I ambled around.
This is Ian's Mobile Farm. They have all kinds of animals for children to get close up to. They also do school visits. Take a look at their web site.
I had a chat with our friendly Rural Police Force.
Inside the produce and flower tent I took a couple of photos.
Oooh look. A cheese tent. I will indulge this time. Now which one to choose. £6 each.
Perfect. 😍😎😂
While having a chat with a man who was showing his ferrets, the rain came. I took shelter in his tent. As it turned out we had a fantastic conversation. He was an ex lorry driver and had a fleet of twelve trucks a few years back. The bonus was that he is fully awake with what is going on in the UK. We sure did put the world to rights, as they say. There are a lot more conspiracy theorists out there, more than we realise. Chat with a stranger and see if you can find one.
The rain kept coming which dampened the spirits and people started leaving early. The entertainment in the ring was halted. Such a shame when so much effort has been put into organising it. I walked the mile back to my car in the rain. Thank goodness I took my super big Van Goch sunflower umbrella.
As I look through the window now at 7pm the sun is shining. Now I will make my dinner.
Thanks for popping in. Have a good week. Toodle pip. ilona
It's been a wet kind of day here in North Lincolnshire today. Some heavy showers. I have my computer and my sewing to keep me occupied.
The two circles in the centre are now stitched onto the black backing fabric. The inner circle is wrapped with gold coloured thread. That is very difficult to work with having eight strands. They keep separating if you let go of it. The 11 small circles are plastic washers, I think I have already posted a picture of those. Each wrapped in a different colour of embroidery thread.
Now I am at the stage of arranging more small pieces, trying to decide which configuration is the most pleasing to the eye. I've got plenty of the small hearts. I don't think the buttons are going to look right unless I can find 11 of the same colour and the same size. I don't want to spend any money on this. The silver glittery bits are cut from pipe cleaners. I bought some from a craft shop years ago. Anything can happen as I play around with it.
Brunch today was broccoli, carrots, and peas. I made extra last night, so this was warmed up in a pan with oil and sweet and sour stir fry sauce. Add some ready cooked rice and there you go. Simple and easy.
This afternoon I made a dash for Aldi. It was chucking it down when I left home, but thankfully it had eased off by the time I got there. £50 spent, all stocked up again. I am going to be using more frozen vegetables in the future. Sometimes good quality veg is not always available. There were some limp and scraggy cauliflowers on sale. At least with frozen you get no waste.
I was outside with the camera last night at 10pm, hoping to catch the hedgehogs as they arrived. I waited but they were late, so I clicked off the camera after ten minutes. Later on I looked out to see if there was any sign of them, and three were in the garden. I tried to get them on camera but it was too dark with too many shadows. I will try again another night and set up a better light.
Quick dinner tonight. Potato in the microwave with cheese and slices of beetroot. The rain has stopped so I'll go out and do a village walk.
Thanks for popping in. Have a good weekend. Toodle pip. ilona
That's Geoffrey Hinton, the "Godfather of AI," who shared the 2024 Nobel Prize in Physics for pioneering artificial neural networks. He's long warned about AI's potential dangers, as in this speech.
Geoffrey Hinton is a leading computer scientist and cognitive psychologist, widely recognised as the ‘Godfather of AI’ for his pioneering work on neural networks and deep learning. He received the 2018 Turing Award, often called the Nobel Prize of computing. In 2023, he left Google to warn people about the rising dangers of AI.
He explains:
◽️ Why there’s a real 20% chance AI could lead to HUMAN EXTINCTION.
◽️ How speaking out about AI got him SILENCED.
◽️ The deep REGRET he feels for helping create AI.
◽️ The 6 DEADLY THREATS AI poses to humanity right now.
◽️ AI’s potential to advance healthcare, boost productivity, and transform education.

Good morning. We start the day off with rain here. A heavy shower has freshened the garden.
Coffee while checking around on the computer, it's part of my daily routine. What pops up is Lee Asher, from Asher House, the well know animal rescue establishment. He is walking with his pack of dogs, lots of them. Ladies, he is very easy on the eye, take a look.
There was a little kerfuffle by one of the dogs. It was picking on several others. Lee has the answer to that. Defuse the situation by putting it on a lead and walking calmly with it by his side for a few minutes. No shouting, no chasing it about, no creating tension. Dogs pick up on negative vibes and respond with aggression. Lee is the pack leader and they know it.
So, can the same solution be applied to quell human aggression. I am not sure if it can be used to solve crowd aggression, but I believe his advice is sage on a one to one basis. This is what he says. . . .
Good evening. I've been out in the fields this afternoon. Haven't had a proper walk for a while because it's been too hot. It's still warm today but there was a gentle breeze, so it was quite pleasant. Some of the crops have been harvested and they are preparing the ground for the next sowing. Reminds me of the hymn, 'We plough the fields and scatter the good seed on the land.'
There is an injured pigeon in my garden. It can walk around but I don't think it can fly. I will keep my eye on it. I might have to catch it to save it from any further injury. I put some bird seen on the lawn so it is pecking away at that at the moment.
Janet is back, so no more cat sitting, and no more tele, yippeeeee. 🙋 Now I will never find out who won the Sewing Bee.
Didn't fancy much for dinner tonight so I am having porridge with banana and blueberries.
Thanks for popping in. Catch ya tomorrow. Toodle pip. ilona
Hello. My working life ended 16 years ago. Now I just please myself. This is my diary. What I do and what I think about. You are welcome to read it. Toodle pip.
