Tears

 I cried twice this morning.

A friend in our village had to have her little dog put to sleep. Poppy had a stroke on Sunday. She put a call out for help, has anyone got a dog crate to lend her, and a pushchair so she could take the dog for a walk. It was thought that Poppy would recover. People rallied round to help. Sadly she couldn't be saved. Poppy was her companion, the friend is recovering from cancer. I cried.

I saw a post on faceboook. A young man was taking part in his school graduation ceremony. He had not long lost his father. Unknowing to him a group of his fathers colleagues entered the room. They were there to support the young man. They circled him to show him he was not alone. I cried again.

Dry your eyes Rachel.

I cry for humanity. It is being decimated by those who want to destroy us. Starmer is a robot following orders. Where is your humanity Rachel? Balancing books, figures on a spreadsheet, are not the answer.

Thanks for popping in. Have a good Thursday. Toodle pip.   ilona

  1. I think I have let Rachel off lightly here. Demirep (Granny) gives her a roasting with some home truths.

Looking at her body language she is pleading with him to save her.

  2. Sadly, I think maybe some don’t have any humanity. So sorry about your friend’s dog. Lost our wonderful Golden Retriever in January. Miss him every day. H

    1. A lot of politicians have never lived in the real world. Declaring that your father was a tool maker, just doesn't cut it.

    1. We are mostly a dog loving village here. We see each other and meet their dogs when out and about. I know more dogs than people.

  4. So sorry to hear about your friend’s little dog. It’s so hard to lose a beloved companion and I often think our pets are there for us more than some people.
That was a lovely story about the student - it gives me faith that there’s humanity out there.
Kemi’s speech was absolutely brilliant and so well delivered.

  5. I too would have cried the same as you ilona. Rachel is operating beyond her capabilities so there were bound to be tears at some point. Nick

    1. The consensus with this present Government seems to be, rob the poor to keep the rich in their lavish lifestyles. Remove all their privileges, and send them to the dole office to sign on.

  6. I have very watery eyes just reading this Ilona ... especially the dog story & the young man who'd lost his father.

    1. Just two examples to illustrate my concerns for the welfare of animals and young people.
