Let's go to Yarndale.

Good morning. It's bright and sunny here in North Lincolnshire. A tad chilly so it's time to layer up. Let's make a start with posting the photographs of my visit to Yarndale, held at the Skipton Auction Mart. So, Yarndale is a Festival of Yarn and Woolly Creativity. Because I was there both before and after the show I was able to get photographs before the crowds arrived. This is what greets you when you arrive. The whole area was blitzed with knitted and crochet artistic creations.

There were mandalas hanging in the trees which didn't photograph too well against the grey sky. As I walked around the town There were strings of bunting everywhere. The venue is next to a college which local people use as a short cut, just follow the bunting. There was a shuttle bus running people back and forth from the railway station. It was decorated with mandalas in the windows.

I had a chat with the driver, of course. Why wouldn't I. He was proudly showing off the firms brand new bus, only one week old. The owner of the bus company, and himself, are the only ones allowed to drive it. Oh wow, it is fabulous. As I was walking around the town later I saw him three times. He flashed his lights and gave me a cheery wave.

A far cry from Stevensons Rockets that I used to drive. The old Routemasters which had done 20 years in London. What a difference eh!. No power steering. separate drivers cab. Conductor on the back. Photo from Wiki.
All aboard for the Yarndale special. Hold tight please.

Come back if you want to see some more of my woolly Yarndale pictures. They definitely have the WOW factor. Thanks for popping in. Toodle pip.   ilona

  1. I think my favorite was the one with the five little ladies knitting away while obtaining their yarn directly from the sheep. Very cute and clever. I'm sure there were many other lovely projects as well. I really appreciate your trips like this and your photos. Thank you for sharing. Ranee (USA)

  2. The can’t imagine planning that must go into this event. Is it an annual event? I seem to remember you visiting before. I am anxious to see the rest.

    1. I have been to this venue before, 2 or 3 times, stayed overnight, and explored the area. They host different types of shows. Art in the Pen is a favourite of mine. It's all about creating art with all kinds of media. There is also a Christmas craft even coming up. I might go to that one.
