Just in case you were wondering, this is what the Skipton Auction Mart looks like. Picture taken from their Facebook page.
Time to go inside and have a look around.
Splashes of colour everywhere. Very tempting for the avid knitters.
It was very busy, difficult to get close enough to the stalls to take photo's. Then I had another idea. A lot of people were wearing the creations they had made. I can sneak a few shots of them without them noticing. Some amazingly creative work has been produced. Why not come out and show it off.
This lady has made her coat, and her backpack, entirely from wool.
Hours and hours of work has gone into these garments.
These two decorated hoops caught my eye. Interesting that this one is used the opposite way round. The embroidery sits inside the hoop rather than on top of it. Must try that.
That's the end of the Yarndale show pictures. Stay tuned for the Skipton walkabout pics. More to come from this trip.
Thanks for popping in. Toodle pip. ilona
I am just amazed. All those wearing their creations….just beautiful.
ReplyDeleteThere was a lot of talent about. Someone asked me about my patchwork gilet. Said they are going to have a go at making one for themselves.
DeleteAh Ilona I have been to Skipton before I really love this part of England and it's surrounding areas Jo dorsetx
ReplyDeleteIt made a nice change to be in the hills rather than the flat fields of North Lincolnshire. More pics to come.
DeleteWow, so much creativity and hours and hours of work! It is good to see that there are a lot of people who don´t spend their free time staring at a screen. And your photos are great, as always.

It would be nice if people taught their children to create their own entertainment with their hands, rather than sit goggle eyed in front of a screen. Thank you for your comment.
DeleteOh thank you for all the colourful creations! I've made a crochet Hexagon cardigan, but wasn't brave enough to go all technicolour. Mine is dusky pink. 😄
