Hello there. I didn't take many photo's of this work in progress. This is how it started. Choose the centre piece and build the layers around it. The dark blue button is a fraction bigger than the others so the beads around it slightly bulge out at that point. Plastic rings wrapped with pink and green thread.
The large metal circle was given to me. I did a blanket stitch with blue thread to cover it, and went around it again with orange thread. I started off with a large hoop, but changed it for a smaller hoop.
Fill in the gaps with red and gold studs. Add some wide orange braiding and put some pink and green French knots around the outside edge. I wrapped the outer hoop with blue ribbon, and I had some felt in exactly the same colour to cover the back.
I have an idea for another one but it will be a bigger hoop with a different design.
Crafty Club this morning, and a walk this afternoon. It's been a lovely sunny day.
There are hundreds, possibly thousands, of pheasants around the moment. It won't be long before those horrible people come along with their guns and dogs to blast them out of the sky. They call it sport. In my opinion they must be sick in the head. .
Hopefully no shooting near your walking ?? I enjoy seeing your process on the mandala. I just don’t have that crafting gift. Seeing a blank canvas or item and expand it into a work of art. Keep on keeping on and taking us along. 🤗🤗
ReplyDeleteI have put a post on our faceboook page asking when is the killing going to start. People have replied with dates, so I shall be avoiding the areas around those times.
DeleteMandala, looking good Ilona. Your craft supplies are endless.
ReplyDeleteJ.
I have got enough stuff to last me until the end of my life. The challenge is to use up as much as I can.
DeleteA beautiful mandala. I love the colours and the way you’ve used the materials. I hate pheasant shooting too - so cruel.
