Good morning. It's the end of another week, and it is sunny outside. I am feeling all the joys of spring.
Yesterday I had a look at the new exhibition at the 20 21 Art Gallery in town. Wow, look at the size of these canvases. The pictures are very big, and displaying them on an even bigger board shows up the start contrast between the colours and the black background. I think we are lucky to have this facility in our town, even though Scunthorpe is not a particularly arty place.

Hello Dom.
Call me old-fashioned but that isn't my idea of art. I will stick to the Pre-Raphaelites - just look at Inchbold's In Early Spring. You could walk into it.
ReplyDeleteAs the old saying goes, if you can’t do it, you teach it,… ha ha ha,…there must be better local artists than this? Perhaps he has a friend at the art gallery ? On the other hand I think Ilonas art is wonderful, the Enchanted Forest one was gorgeous, so imaginative, beautiful use of materials, really skilled needle work,. Now that’s real art,… something that livens the soul,…. But I suppose we all must have different tastes otherwise the world would be very boring,,,.. Shame she only sells locally,… if she still has it I may come all the way from the South West to her next stall appearance at her village event,. Let me know Ilona, wishing you a lovely Autumn, Oona.
DeleteVery impressive!
