The Tony Blair Institute for Global Change.
We help governments and leaders get things done. We do it by advising on strategy, policy and delivery, unlocking the power of technology across all three. As a not-for-profit, we can work in the most challenging contexts and on the most transformative projects because our focus is on leaders rather than profits.
We’re a global team of political strategists, policy experts, delivery practitioners, technology specialists and more. We’re from the public, private and tech sectors. We come from over 50 different countries and speak over 45 languages. We are united in our desire to make the world a better place
Many countries in the Global North are stalling or falling short on their climate targets, while others are struggling to attract the finance required to reduce emissions.
International carbon markets are a tool that all countries, in both the Global North and Global South, should seek to utilise. By creating a mechanism for countries to sell carbon credits to companies or governments in other countries in exchange for funds that are invested in domestic climate projects, international carbon markets enable the flow of capital for climate action from the Global North to the Global South.

This will cost the country millions. We already have ID it's called a National Insurance number and a NHS number. Some also have a passport and /or a driving licence. Also the Electoral Roll. How much more ID do we really need fgs?
ReplyDeleteAs you say, those born and brought up here already have enough ID. They know who we are. If they are going to go ahead with this they should start by monitoring and logging all those who have arrived from far off lands in boats and lorries. When they have done all that then we can see if if it was a worthwhile exercise. Yes, it will cost the country millions, but as usual they will take the soft option of going about it arse about face, and targeting us first.
DeleteAs someone who has worked in the NHS, I can assure you that the NHS Number is not a very good basis for an ID. The original NHS Numbers got into such a state that in effect the NHS had to start again with the New NHS Number - the one currently used.
DeleteAnd from having dealt with payroll systems, likewise NI numbers are not fit for purpose unless things have changed markedly in the past 10 years - there were at that time at least 5-8 million more numbers issued that the official population of the UK (but that may, of course, reveal that the official population estimates are hopelessly wrong!).
Thanks Will. Perhaps they realise that they made such a hash of keeping track of numbers, they now feel they need to sweep the board clean and start all over again with Digital ID.
DeleteNothing to do with migration of course. Those who are here illegally work cash in hand to avoid tax and NI - what would a digital ID do to help with that? The whole point is control - wait until its linked to a social credit score. I've already seen people asking what happens when you lose your phone? What's the next step after that? They know thats a possibility. I'm sure you can imagine what comes after that when its decided smartphones are too risky...
ReplyDeleteI’ll make it as difficult as I can to make them force me to submit to this. As usual it’s all about control.
ReplyDeleteThe deafening silence from the trolls is heartwarming. Are they at last coming round from their self imposed coma.
ReplyDeleteI agree we don't need this, but don't agree with the bigger picture you paint
ReplyDeleteSo called "troll"
That's fine. The rest will come later.
DeleteDigital ID isn’t about “convenience” or “efficiency.” It’s certainly not a “fix.” It’s enforced servitude. This is the playbook: manufacture a crisis, amplify the panic, then sell the “solution” that annihilates our freedom.
Imagine a life lived under relentless surveillance, permissioned gateways, systems that log, rank & revoke. One switch could cut your pay, your care, your travel, your voice.
Their goal is simple: total control.
We don't have to imagine a life under relentless surveillance, we can look at Communist China. Thankfully in the U.S. we have a President who is slowing it down a bit for us. We feel the UK is lost.
DeleteYour president may not be perfect, but he is listening to the team he has built to make the changes that are needed.
DeleteAnd they called us tin hatters!!
ReplyDeleteI've just polished mine.
DeleteEveryone should sign the petition on government website to vote no to digital I'd.
ReplyDeleteIf only people would stand together and recognise who is the real enemy.
DeleteNeil Mc Ward YouTube talks About this. Bieke from Holland
