Good morning. I am so excited. Litter picking is taking off in a big way. I have just found this faceboook page on dealing with the bags when they fill up and become too heavy to carry. People are so inventive.
Thanks to UK Litterpicking Groups for these ideas. I need to be more organised, I need a set of wheels.

Some great ideas there. We lugged back a foam settee cushion which someone had shoved in the hedge when we went litter picking on Saturday. It was sopping wet and heavy to carry.
ReplyDeleteWell done. Over time extensive littering becomes fly tipping, as more people add their own bottles and cans to an area that is already a mess. They see it as normal and close their eyes to it. That's why it needs to be collected and disposed of in the proper way.

I love love love litter picking. I walk my pup twice a day and most every time pick up two pieces or so of litter, mainly plastic. My street has street gutters that say "straight to the sea". I worry about the ocean and sea critters ingesting the plastic. So thank you for picking up litter across the pond. I am 80 and wish the younger folks would also do this.
