Not free. The catch.

Fat Dormouse was asking me about fact checkers, which ones are genuine. I will answer in another post. For now I urge you to become your own fact checker, because those who set themselves up in this new profession only do so to make money. They have seen a niche in the market and will produce reports favouring those who pay them to do so.

As I said facebuck is now awash with fake accounts, promising all kinds of offers you can't refuse. Forget about something for nothing, there is always a cost. This morning I found this one. It wasn't hidden, it was in your face. Free laptops. They may only be asking for £3, they say they are a charity, but there are hidden costs. Amazon are not being generous and giving away their stock. It's all about addiction to screens.

Amazon, one of the big players who are calling all the shots. Steering everyone towards CBDC. Oh yes, it's so easy, order from your home and it will be delivered to your home. No need to go anywhere, sit on your arse and open your packages. Globalisation here we come.

If you want to order one of these ipad pro's here is the link. Tell anyone they have won something and they get excited. Oh really, I have won. No you sodding well haven't won, you have be conned. The fake site 'Last years ipads' was set up just for this. Charity campaign my arse. This is a data harvesting exercise.

Amazon is launching a charity campaign to support the elderly in the UK this holiday season! As part of the initiative, the company is donating last year's iPads to seniors aged 40 and older. This step helps to make room for new products and express gratitude for their contribution to society. Find out if you can get your iPad by clicking on the button below the photo and answering a few simple questions

I checked out some of the comments. Clicked on some of the names of people who have given positive reviews. When did they last post on their own facebuck page? All fake. No posts in the last year, and a few before that are all about food. No doubt that these profiles have been stolen from those who have abandoned their page. On one ipad posting it says 73 comments, not true. There are only 8. They inflate the numbers or they may be holding the negative comments back.

So to sum up. This is not a charity campaign. Amazon is very rich they can afford to offload some of their stock. If they are giving some devices away they are ensuring their customer base grows and all these lucky winners will order from them over and over again. Reel them in and they will keep coming back. Now where have I heard that plan before, let me think. Oh I know.

Think wide. Think outside the box. Question everything. Things are not always as they first appear.

Thank you for the positive emails from the wide awakers. They keep me going. Now for breakfast, then I must go out for a ramble around the fields.

Have a good weekend. Toodle pip. ilona

  2. It is quite frightening when you realize how gullible people are, isn’t it?

  4. Ilona I dont always agree with everything you say, but I absolutely agree with you on everything you say in this post. Facebook is awash with lies and cons-all designed to reel you in and get more of your details. As for Amazon-i can't do better than your description. We need to ask ourselves 'What are they after?' and we need to protect our details-data mining is a huge issue. And (as you have always said!) pay cash-because if we dont, soon we won't be able to and then every transaction will be tracked. SJ

  5. Debi from Leicester.About a year ago there was a picture of an innocent elderly couple, selling free range eggs, honey, veg ect all at very cheap prices and delivered to your door as well!!!.I messaged them saying I could only do cash on delivery if that was ok.They asked where I lived so they could tell me delivery time.Anyway,it seems then I had got to pay by paypal first...whatever that is,lol. So messages went back and forth, they got quite nasty.I realised that they were scammers and reported them. Some people had paid them and realised they had fell for it cause nothing was delivered.Lots of people reported them to FB and yet they are still doing it all over the UK!!.Using innocent peoples photos, usually with a farm yard vibe in the back ground!.When are these scammers going to be stopped. They are robbing people and FB is letting them get away with it daily!xx

    1. There's no getting away from scammers, they are everywhere. Some of the homeless you see in shop doorways are not actually homeless. They are brought in daily by minders. Dressed in scruffy clothes so you feel sorry for them.
