Aye up me ducks, have you had a good Saturday. Tis a Bank Holiday weekend don't ya know. Three full days off the daily grind. That's what I remember of it anyway. It's a long time ago since I went to work.
I stand corrected, I've just done two days work. Delivering 465 Newsletters to every house in a nearby village. I started yesterday and finished today. I knocked up this little video while on my coffee break.
A lot of brisk walking, pleased that the legs held out. Up and down steps, long driveways to posh houses, and drive out to the farms nearby. All delivered.
This one didn't get a delivery. Block paving all overgrown with weeds, gate with lock and chain.
It was interesting to see all the changes, since the last time I did it. Must be a fair few years now. People adding new extensions, and updating their gardens. It's a small village surrounded by farmland and countryside, not far from the river. I used to chat with an elderly lady who lived in a very basic bungalow on a farm. She had cats which were always hanging around her door. Sadly she is no longer there, and her bungalow is being updated with a new roof. Similar with an old gentleman I used to chat with. He was always sat in his conservatory. The house is completely different now. A new modern front. Sadly he has passed away. I think the good weather is going to hold out for the weekend. Best to go out while we can.
Thanks for popping in. Toodle pip. ilona
That was a bunch of walking. The steps would have had my knees aching lol. Played girls throughout school and did my knees in. That was great exercise for 2 days.
ReplyDeleteI missed the word sports in that comment lol sorry.
ReplyDeleteI was never one for sports when I was at school. Always afraid of getting bashed with a hockey stick, or tripping over the hurdles, or falling badly on the long jump. I was a wimp.
DeleteI'm pleased for you that you don't have to slave away working anymore ilona.i cut my working hours and compensate by being very frugal I feel wonderfull now I'm not clock watching and doing my back damage daily.working part-time is wonderfull when you are getting older.i have so much more free time nowx
ReplyDeleteThat sounds like you are on the right track. We all need to earn money, but working out how much you actually need makes sense. Why kill yourself for a few quid more when you are too knackered to enjoy it. Enjoy your free time.
DeleteGreat that you managed this. I definitely think exercise and keeping moving is the way to remain independent and living in our own homes as we get older. Far too many people fall into the trap of sedentary lifestyles. I’m still keeping up the walking and staying on course.
ReplyDeleteI am seeing a lot of young people that are far too big. They are storing up a whole lot of problems for themselves in later life. Good to hear that you are looking after yourself.
DeleteHope you are having a lovely time car camping. Cannot wait to read all about your adventures!!
ReplyDeleteStay tuned. Lots of pics to come.
