This was my grannie's cure for almost everything - including my mum's broken leg (!) It works well for colds and flu, though - reduces your temperature and makes you feel a little bit happier..... It will shorten the length of a cold from seven days to just a week! Fact.
I buy lemons and make gylcerine, lemon and honey, you can get gylcerine from the chemist, it acts as a preservative, one part of each in a bottle, I put mine in the microwave for 1 minutes to melt eveeything together, shake the bottle well to mix and bobs your uncle......we have the whisky in hot water with a little brown sugar and take paracetamol......works every time.
Bad luck Ilona, stay at home and keep warm, don't skimp on the central heating, your health is more important than saving a few pennies. Anyway you will get winter heating allowance from the government. I wish you a speedy recovery!
Not much snow in North London but the wind is bitterly cold, all public transport seems to have frozen to a halt and everybody regardless of whether they have jobs or not, are not bothering to venture out. A good time to catch up on movies!
I keep thinking I ought to put the heating on, but I am not cold. It was on for an hour this morning, and I am well wrapped up, and I am warm enough. Must be the whisky, ha ha. The tickly throat has gone bye the way.
Hello. My working life ended 15 years ago. Now I just please myself. This is my diary. What I do and what I think about. You are welcome to read it. Toodle pip.
Hopefully your hot toddy will keep the cold away. It's that time of the year:( Hope you feel better soon xxx

If your making a hot toddy, try it with either cloves or cinnamon. They will both help as they warm you from within to help fight the bug.
