Hello and Good Evening. Here is a little update on the needle felting picture. It's coming along slowly.
I didn't like the tentacles on this little fella so I've changed them. Much better now. Still a lot more to do. I'll keep you posted.
Tonight I made a big pan of curried veggie stew, it's bloomin lovely. I started off with Quorn pieces, Quorn mince, and chopped onion, cooked it in oil and spices, curry powder, turmeric, and vegetable granules. added water and fruit juice, and chucked in a load of chopped vegetables, and a tin of mixed beans. Simmered it for a while. I'm going to be busy for a couple of days, I'll keep it in the fridge and it will just need warming up in the microwave.
I'm getting itchy feet again and thinking it's time I did another long walk. Carlisle to Cleveleys seems about right. A walk through the Lake District, nice scenery.

ReplyDeleteSuch pretty colours! I hope you'll keep posting photos of your progress - anything to do with the seaside brightens my day. Last summer we had forest fires up north and now this summer forest fires from the west - the air quality is very poor here and limits outside activities. I would love to see some photos of the Lake District - didn't your famous Beatrix Potter live there? Hugs from Barbara (Canada)

Hi from West Virginia USA �� I just have a question. When you are invited to say a baby shower or household ... how do you handle these in a frugal way? I know you are crafty and that works for some, but do you ever shop for a gift?? Thanks in advance for your response ����
ReplyDeleteHi Rosie. Baby showers are a recent thing in the UK. I have no idea what happens at these events. Someone is pregnant and they have friends round, I think. All sounds a bit silly to me. I don't get invited to them, I don't know any young people who are having babies.
DeleteI don't buy gifts for special occasions, I might buy one for a friend to say thank you, if someone has been nice and/or helpful to me. I think buying gifts for the sake of it, because everyone else does it, is silly.
I do give my crafts away, I like to give surprises, not for any particular event.
I always buy or make gifts for my family on birthdays or at Christmas. They love me and cheer me up immensely throughout the year and I embrace the opportunity to show my gratitude. It's only money and you can't take it with you. I'd like to be remembered for my generosity and thoughtfulness, it's better to give than to receive.
DeleteI went to one a couple of years ago and took a small teddy which wasn't very imaginative of me but it was the 1st I'd been to.Some took nappies,baby toiletries and creams.We ate cakes and I enjoyed it x

ReplyDeleteLovely vibrant colours. Do you ever roughly work out how many hours go into a picture like this? When I am crafting, whatever sort, the time flies past. One minute I sit down to start, and then suddenly I notice that two hours have flown past. Jean.

ReplyDeleteLovely craftwork as always Ilona. If I was going to the Lake District I'd visit Black Sail Youth Hostel. I absolutely love the remoteness of it and the fact you can only get there on foot. It's certainly a challenge and is on my bucket list of things to do whilst I'm still fit enough. Kristel
