Well I haven't quite made it to the target again. I should be on 583, and I am 10 short. Oh dear. I must pull my finger out and get on with it. I am going to be very busy over the next few weeks, after the exhibition I will be going on holiday. At least I will get some walking done then to hopefully catch up.
How is everyone else doing? Are you surging ahead, or are you struggling to keep up? Report your achievements, and your failings. Give each other a pat on the back, or commiserations, whichever is appropriate.

Hello Ilona.
ReplyDeleteOur mileage for the year so far is 707miles BUT our mileage for July is 71.
This is down to I’ll health heat and a lot of gardening!
I think your 10 mile deficit sounds good beside that.
Thanks for keeping this going. I couldn’t find the original check in at the top of the page.
Sue
I haven't had a check in at the top of the page for a long time. Check in has been on the 1st of the month, for a year and a half. Your mileage is very impressive. Keep going.
DeleteI'm obviously dozier than I thought. Sorry!
DeleteSue
Hi Ilona, my total to the end of July is 659 miles.
ReplyDeleteGood luck with the exhibition

DeleteMy total this month is 87 miles and year to date is 827. It's less than normal I think because of the heat and being busy. I have swam more and done more kayaking.
ReplyDeleteHappy walking to all.
Sounds like you are very active all round, your mileage is fantastic.
DeleteHello: My total for the month is 63 miles, no excuses really, life gets in the way sometimes. Total for the year 584 miles. Partner and I are on a diet and more walking is on the menu also, so hope the total number of miles will be better at the end of August. Patricia from Canada.
ReplyDeleteGreat to hear about the diet, but think of it more as healthy eating. The walking will help.
DeleteHello Ilona, due to nasty heel pain I only managed to walk 31 kilometers in July, but now I can not walk I have started cycling, taking long bike rides in my beautiful countryside. So, in July I rode 352 kilometers on my bike, which was and still is a wonderful alternative for walking, I think (and feel!).
ReplyDeleteHope to start my daily walks again in August.
Happy walking to you and all Meanqueen fellow walkers.
Cheers,
Jeanneke.
Forgot to mention my walking total so far: 664 kilometers
DeleteAt least you are still moving, that's the main thing. Adapt your exercise to suit your body.
DeleteI did 137 this past month... in the heat.... add that to my 517... total so far. 654. Not bad at all methinks.
ReplyDeleteYou are right, that's pretty good going.
Delete67 miles in July. Total 512 for year so far, happy with that.
ReplyDeleteAnd I'm happy too. You are doing great.
DeleteHi Ilona, 88 miles in July bringing my total to 648. Well done to everyone.
ReplyDeleteRay
And well done Ray, that's good numbers.
DeleteOnly 85 miles this month bringing my total to 840 miles. Very very hot here on the Adriatic. All the best to everyone and keep at it. Cheers!
ReplyDeleteONLY 85, that's flippin fantastic. You are way ahead for the 1000 target.
DeleteIlona Forgot to say I hope you do well at the exhibition.x
ReplyDeleteThank you. xxx
DeleteI’ve done 54 - my personal target is 50 and I’m amazed I’ve made it this month as it has been too hot for walking most days. I have been out early or in the evenings in order to keep on track. My mileage is very low compared to most of you but I am enjoying it and remain committed.
ReplyDeleteIt’s what you are aiming at that matters not what others have done.
DeleteOur art teacher always tells us to compare our most recent effort to our earlier ones rather than to other people's.
Well done. Enjoying the walks is half the battle! Sue
It has been very hot. As Sue says, don't compare yourself with others, it's not a competition, you are doing what you can. Keep doing it.
Delete83.3 miles this month making a total of 542.8 miles to date. Hopefully might be able to make up the shortfall gradually. Thank you.
ReplyDeleteIt's only a small shortfall, plenty of time to reach the target.
DeleteOnly 62 miles this month. The heat has affected me and some days I got quite breathless. Hopefully my score will go up if the weather cools down a bit.
ReplyDeleteWe had a blip of cooler weather, but now it's set to rise again. It is making it hard going for everyone. Five months left, we all have time to catch up.
DeleteHi Ilona and fellow walkers. Most of this month has been arctic in our state of Victoria. Wild wind, teeming rain and snow flurries, the coldest it has been for a few years now. Walks have been squeezed in whenever the weather allows. Down to 78 miles for this month (target 100) making 634 miles so far. Quite happy with that - warmer weather will come eventually along with more, and longer walks. Good luck with your exhibition and happy walking everyone!!
ReplyDeleteOh dear Joy, sounds like you are battling with very difficult conditions. You are still doing brilliantly though, well done.
DeleteJuly was even hotter than June, so I took my walks either in the early morning or after 9 in the evening. I was surprised to see that I managed over 100 miles, which brings me to a total of 659.
ReplyDeleteLooks good to me. I've had some lovely walks at 9pm when most people are slumped in front of a box. The roads have been lovely and quiet.
DeleteOnly managed 62.51 miles. Half the blame goes to lack of motivation (me) and the other half the weather (rain). Total for this year is 632.51 Hopefully a better result next month. Lisa W. Tasmania, Australia.
ReplyDeleteI don't think I need to give you a kick up the arse, your miles are great.
DeleteGood morning. Not such a great month this month. I'm looking forward to the cooler weather so I can get out more. Managed 133 bringing my yearly total to 1038. Hopefully I can catch up this month. Have a 5 k in a couple of weeks so that should kick start me. Hope all goes well with the exhibition. Love all your art work. Amanda in Atlanta.
ReplyDeleteHello Ilona and Walking group,
ReplyDeleteThis month in Arizona was super hot...I set out to walk before 7 and it is usually over 90! I walk my dog, and as long as the sun isn’t too high in the sky, the roads are not too hot for the dog’s paws. This month was 61 miles, so the year to date total is 423. Super glad to be included in this walking group. Hope the weather isn’t too oppressive for everyone! This year I am averaging about 2 miles d ay, down from last year at 3, but I am now going to the gym a lot, so this level of walking is more for my peace of mind :)
Wow where did that month go 75 miles for July making 549 in total bit behind hope I can catch up good luck all
ReplyDeletedisastrous for me - a mere 16miles. this takes my total to 174miles.
ReplyDeleteEek! I'm a day late...August started without me realising! Really fount it a struggle some days this month; I am not a hot weather girl it would seem. I did 87.5 miles bringing my total to 650.5. Am chuffed...and humbled by some of the 3-figure mileages some of our group are achieving....Go us!
ReplyDeleteWishing you all the best with your exhibition Ilona - I so enjoyed looking at your creations on your new page. Thank you for sharing them with us. A
Good to see everyone still going into the 2nd half of the year. I have had an accident and been in hospital so I will have to update next month but lets just say this months total is terrible 😀
ReplyDeleteHope you get well soon Lisa
DeleteThank you
DeleteGood Day, checking in from NC in USA. Total for July is 115 and grand total is:
ReplyDeleteJuly is 115 + 606 =721 total
Thx for challenging us all to keep walking!
Sonja
Sorry I'm late for my check in. My dad's been in and out of hospital for most of this month and he'll be there again next week, so I haven't done any real walking apart from coming and going to the hospital. My total remains to 536km so far.
ReplyDeleteYour art and crafts are amazing, Ilona. Good luck with the exhibition!
Sorry for late check-in. Busy at work. 83 miles in July. Total now 846 to date.
ReplyDeleteTotal to date should say 646, not 846. Time for bed.
