Andrea and Matteo

For relaxation in the evenings I look for my favourite singers on yooootoooob. My musical tastes have changed a lot over the years. I still like looking back at the sixties pop scene and remembering my teenage years, then I lost interest in the mid seventies, the groups didn't do anything for me. I am still not interested in the pop scene today. Now I like singers with beautiful voices, people that can really sing.

I can listen to Andrea Bocelli for hours. I cannot understand a word of this first video as he speaks to his son in their native language. I put it on here because it is so moving. The love they have for each other is conveyed in the way they look at each other. Of course Andrea can't see his sons face, but he feels the affection they share. See what you think, can you feel the closeness of the two men. It's just beautiful. Now why can't all fathers and sons interact with each other in this way.

This is a beautiful video of the two of them singing together. Matteo is also talented.

I am staying with Ebico on a similar no standing charge tariff, paying quarterly, no exit fee, fixed for a year. The cost per kWh has gone up, but I still think it will be better than a lower cost per kWh plus a standing charge.

A walk with a friend tomorrow.   ilona

  2. What a beautiful video and a lovely start to my day,so thank you!.Like you I also love the 60s music..nothing these days compares to that time.As my Dad used to say...they dunna make em like they used to!.I think that Ive turned into my parents music wise, lol. Thanks for updating us on your Ebico phone call.It still makes me angry though that by doing that,it might force older people to cut down even more on their warmth. Why cant they just leave things as they are.Its just money and greed these days.Every one out to get what they can from you.xx

  3. Just caught up with last few days posting. Lovely pictures of Carlton Towers, I grew up in a nearby village and went to Snaith Secondary school in the 1970's. My brother would take me to Carlton Towers in the winter when the lake was completey frozen over and we 'd go ice skating, it's great to see. You ought to go in the snow and ice Ilona and see that. Just reading your bills. Are you using energy any differently now than maybe when you were just starting this? Do you use gas for heating or anything else, cooking, hot water? Do you use shower or bath these days?

  6. Ilona, have you watched his video with Ed Shearhan, Perfect Symphony on YouTube. It's a beautiful blending of modern and classic. Mrs. Bocelli's face tells it all.

  8. I do so enjoy your blog -- especially the video appearances. Have you listened to the younger generation newcomers Jonathon Antoine and Charlotte Jaconelli. They were on Britain's got talent and were amazing. Also you have Courtney Hadwin from the UK who is a wild one but so talented for her age. And there is 14 year ld Laura Bretan who is from USA and has the most amazing voice. All of these performers are young and will be famous in the future.

    1. Hi. I have been following Jonathan and Charlotte, two beautiful singers. Courtney is great, love her energy, shame she didn't get to win but she has her future mapped out for her. Not seen Laura yet.
