A very nice wall hanging

I'm still sewing. I have nowhere to put my Christmas tree mat, my tables are full of crafting stuff, so I thought it might look good hanging on the wall. And it does. It looks really nice.

I stitched a channel on the back, used the hem of an old sheet I had been cutting up.

The thick wire going through it was a spoke from an old patio umbrella. It sticks out about an inch at each end and with a piece of cord tied on to it, it's perfect for hanging. The wire can be pulled out and it can be used flat on a table if preferred. Good eh!

Raining all day today so it's carry on sewing. Oscar has just come back in, filled his face, now on his chair cleaning his face. Mayze has gone back to bed, and Heidi is on the kitchen windowsill. All is well.  ilona

  8. I really like it as a wall hanging, Ilona. It’s so vibrant and will be able to stay as a winter wall hanging rather than just Christmas.

  10. The new wall hanging looks lovely, it's great tomhave fun making something then hanging it where you can enjoy it every day.
If you are wanting to hang something without a string or wire, you can make the sleeve on the back in 2 parts, with a small gap exactly in the middle.
Then insert a thin rod or length of wood and hang directly on to a hook or nail from the rod exposed in the gap.
    Happy making .

  15. Makes a very attractive wall hanging, and I always delight in your inventive uses for broken and discarded items. The way you've adapted this for hanging up is something I will use in future - thank you.

  16. I like how you displayed your trees on the wall. Good idea how you hung it as well. I'm slowly getting things out for Christmas. Chilly here in my part of Oregon. Very cold nights. Rain on the weekend! Take care!
