Walking Group check in for the first two months.

Let's start the new month with optimism shall we. February is gone, finished, we can't change what happened. Bad weather held a lot of us back, no fun walking in the rain. But whatever we didn't achieve last month we now have a brand new month to catch up, and still ten months of the year to go. All is not lost, we can do this.

Here's a throwback picture to whet your appetite for walking. Holiday on St Mary's Isles of Scilly. One day it will be sunny again and we can all get outside.

I finished February on 160 miles, eight miles short of target. Now I need to get on with it, no slacking. So what mileage are you on now? Did you reach your target? Let us know so we can congratulate you, or commiserate.

The weather continues to be crazy here. Severe flooding not many miles away, places where I have walked before are under water and no sign of it receeding. They have been pumping water off the fields and into the river. A horrible sight, now we can see the extent of flood damage with the invention of drones.

I'll leave it with you, check in here, after breakfast I'm going to do my three miles while the sun is still out. Who knows what will happen later, another deluge maybe. Toodle pip.  ilona

  2. Hi Ilona! Despite lots of heavy rains and stormy weather in February I managed to walk 104 kilometers. Makes me feel grateful for my health and beautiful surroundings I am able to walk so often.
    Have a beautiful Sunday.
I'll leave in half an hour for my first March march :>)
    Cheers!

  4. Camine 75 millas.

Hello! I've had trouble posting at check-in the last few months but fingers crossed this goes through. I have done a total of 273 miles through Jan and Feb. Glad to be on the bandwagon again this year. Thanks Ilona for inspiring us all!

PS - I had trouble posting my total for 2019 also - missed my revised goal of 1500 miles by 16 with a total of 1484 miles for the year. I will try for 1500 again this year.

  11. Good evening,
Since I can’t post to blogger these days without showing up as anonymous ;( I will keep emailing you.
My Feb mileage was 62, leading to a year to date of 122 miles. The weather here in the Arizona desert is getting to be wonderful so I plan on longer walks now. Hope you an the rest of the walking group members are doing well, and trudging on through the world’s summer and winter challenges ;)

    Thanks,

    1. Hello Hilogene. I would prefer if people didn't use the anonymous option, but if they add their name at the end of the text, like you do, that is acceptable. I monitor every comment coming in, and make the decision whether to publish or not publish at the time I receive it. Very good mileage by the way, well done.

  13. I'm walking for 1 and a half hours with my dogs on average a day.For a lot of the time I go fairly fast backwards and forwards to call them back or stop them from eating horse poo.So I should imagine I'm walking a couple of miles a day but I'm unsure really. It really felt like Spring today, still muddy but lots of birds tweeting and squirrels running around playing and squeeking to each other x

In spite of the icy and snowy conditions during February is did manage to do 50 miles. Total for 2020 so far, 96 miles. Temperatures are reported to be above the zero degree mark all of this week, snow will melt, so hopefully, I will be able to get out and rack up more miles for March.

Sorry I haven't commented more, my computer doesn't seem to cope with blogger very well so I use my phone and I'm not good with its tiny keyboard!Loved your life in trucking videos on youtube Ilona! Hello to all walkers great totals everyone.

  18. Hello Ilona and the group. Finally getting round to recording my miles here. I managed 66 miles in February, taking my year's total to 147 miles. Well short of my target but I'll try and do better this month. I walked 10 miles with my walking group today,so that's a good chunk to add.
