A lovely day for a walk.

Sorry, no time for a blog post tonight, I've been out all day. I walked along a canal tow path, passing numerous locks, some double, and some triple. I walked from one railway station to another, the track ran almost parallel to the canal. I've passed a Marina, and fed a swan and her babies with most of my cheese sandwich. I've walked around the edge of an air field, small aircraft flying overhead. I've walked through a cornfield. I've photographed a derelict mansion. I've walked around a lake. I walked through a pretty village. I've walked nine miles, the weather was glorious, and I really enjoyed it.

Back tomorrow with some pics. Toodle pip.   ilona

  1. Wow you have managed to fit so much in on this lovely day! And it really has been just perfect for walking, with the sun, blue skies, not too hot and just a hint of a breeze. It is such a great feeling to be able to get out and just walk..made even nicer by seeing the swan with her babies.Although,I do remember being kept captive in my caravan years ago when a swan and her babies thought it a great idea to sit in the sun just outside my caravan door, lol.I was in there for about 2 hours! Then they all toddled off down to the river. It was lovely to be able to see them close up as I sat watching from the windows.Glad that you enjoyed your day,xx

    1. I think we are in for a hot day today, no walking, jobs to do in the garden.

    1. It would take a hard person to not share with a beautiful swan and her three little ones.

  3. I love canal walks. Flat, but plenty of interest and cheery people to meet along the way. I'm lucky to live right next to one.

    1. The stretch I walked along was quite popular. Flat laid out paths with easy access from nearby houses.
