Too hot to walk means I have time to do indoor things. Yesterday I did a load of washing and made a video about it. I have a gigantic box of Ariel. I bought it a long long time ago. When I do a wash I put in two dessertspoons of the powder in the drawer, that's all. I wash everything at 30 degrees on a 30 minute cycle. A way to save money on my laundry.
Here you go. Me in my kitchen. Now I have to take Billy dog out. It's a bit overcast today so not so hot.
Thanks for popping in. We will catch up soon. Toodle pip. ilona
I don't think 30 degrees would get all the stains out of my clothes?
ReplyDeleteYou could give it a try.
DeleteFab! That looks like it will last ages. I don't wash everything at 30 as I have a six year old who wears white school shirts but what I do is mix powder with soda crystals half and half as soda crystals are brilliant for getting stains out of things and a bag of them is only £1. It makes my washing powder last much longer. I used to get the vanish stain bars which look like a white soap bar but I have discovered that they don't do anything that a bar of ordinary cheap soap can't do as far as stains are concerned. Cheers, Karen
ReplyDeleteThank you for your washing tips.
DeleteI don't use wash powder as my laundry came out of the machine 'gritty' (my machine works well) but I do use the pods, however, I only have to do a washing cycle every 2-3 weeks as I make sure that I have a full load in the machine. I certainly don't iron anymore - what a waste of time.
ReplyDeleteI have never tried pods. I might when I have used up all the powder.
DeleteSo glad to hear Miss Mayze is on the bend. If she is eating well that is an excellent sign that she is. I wash once a week, cold water, one gel tab. After it spins I just hang everything inside, up on a rod the builder installed over the washer and dryer. Here in Texas the clothes are bone dry by evening. Been way too hot to walk and at 81 I cannot tolerate the heat outdoors like I did when I was younger.
ReplyDeleteThe water in my washing machine only gets to luke warm as it passes through the system into the drum. I have heard other people say they use cold water.
DeleteI’ve just brought a spin dryer so I can do far more hand washing in the coming winters months won’t have such a bulk of wet damp washing hanging around or draped on rads so just do a few bits at a time
ReplyDeleteI loved your video on clothes washing. In fact, I love all your videos.
ReplyDeleteGlad Maze is doing better!! I wash everything in cold water as well. Hang the clothes on line in the summer provided it's not raining....I use a portable large folding rack.Everything gets a hanger. (Have had to do a fast removal by bringing it all in when rain has come unexpected) Other wise I try to use dryer only in the in the winter. Doing this does help save a little bit of money and usage during the summer. Love your tips! Sue G Long Island, NY
