DeleteI agree. The number of stores I've been in that automatically offer you their card machine to pay for goods. I'm paying cash and if they don't want my cash then I'll shop elsewhere. Eileen
ReplyDeleteI would walk out of a shop if I couldn't pay with cash. It's very rare I take a card out with me.
Deletethey actually have a tip percentage key when you pay for restaurant meals with your debit card. Same thing if you order takeaway. At least thet's how it is here in Canada. it's a real bugger, too cos you can't give any amount 0 it's all done on percentages. Cindy in Canada
ReplyDeleteSounds dodgy. Tips should be voluntary. If you have good service a generous tip would be appropriate. Terrible service and you wouldn't bother leaving one.

DeleteCash is king. A lot of elderly people havent smart phones and are unable to do online banking as they have no broadband. It seems old people are now surplus to requirements.

DeleteWee saw the Blackbeltbarrister and thought even he can be an idiot! First, never use adverts on Insta!! Its hard core sales pitch territory. Second, he should have scouted the area and dropped in on neighbours with the set up in place and asked questions. Third, ...well i wont go on as he learned and shared the lessons. A slight iota of sympathy for the sales people; at which point did the penny drop and they realise they had met their match??

Being in the UK I would like to know the answer to this question, 'we had 10 years of austerity between 2010 and 2019 when public expenditure was cut to the bone, how did the government find enough money for 'jib jabs', the P*E and now is giving out money for the fuel crisis?'
ReplyDeleteI am certainly not criticising them for the winter allowance of £400 paid over 6 months which is not being re-paid by the household - but it is strange to me that suddenly the powers-that-be can find this amount of money. I am certainly grateful for this 'gift' as it will help but it does puzzle me as to whose sofa the money has been lurking in.
They are printing money like crazy. Fiat currency used to be backed up by gold. Not any more. The more they print, the less value it has.
DeleteThe last person to try to reinstate the gold standard in the US was President Kennedy. What you have to tell has been cooking since WW11, first person I know to use phrase new world order was general Dwight D. Eisenhower is a speech following that war.

ReplyDeleteAny day money goes into my one and only bank account I draw it out. I don't shop online. I do have a smart phone which is my only access to the internet, I'm on SIM only deal and every 6 months I change the SIM. I have only 1 direct debit for life insurance so the kids can have funds for my funeral, however In January I will be 60 and can access the money, I will then be paying for funeral . Then no Direct debit Yayyy!. It's no body business but my own what I do with my money. I am trying to do everything I can within legal boundaries of course, to avoid being 'traced'. As I said I'm nearing 60 and am perfectly capable of running my own life without the influence of the so called Government, establishment, or whatever 'title' they wish to use to hide behind! The influence 'they' try to impress has no bearing on my life.

I've saved the poster image to my computer as it lays out everything so well. I've been using cash for all shopping for a while but will be encouraging everyone I know to follow Global Walkout. I've just heard about Two-factor authentification for online transactions, including looking at your own money - it's actually in three parts; password, one-time passcode and fingerprint/iris/voice recognition. The last one isn't ready yet, but will basically involve using one of your own body parts to access your details!!!

I'm 100% behind this I have seen this coming for a long time and I know you have as well. Adopt the phrase 'what do you mean you don't take cash' and walk out. Spend your money elsewhere. There's so much to lose by rolling over and accepting what's planned. Cheers, Karen
