Checking in with the Walkers Group.

Good morning. It's the first of the month, check in time for the International Walking Group. I hope you are all doing better than I am. I am way behind the target of 840 miles. Shhh, dare I mention, 664 miles. Oh I could make lots of excuses why I am lagging behind, but I'll be honest, I have been going out and enjoying myself. I still walk a lot, but have not been counting.

So let's have it from you. Are you doing better?

Thanks for popping in. Toodle pip.   ilona

  1. I did quite well in August and September, but I´m still far away from my goal at 672 miles. No way I can do 328 miles in 3 months, but I´ll try to do my best.

    1. Hello Hilde. Do your best. Just remember you are doing a lot better than many others who are doing nothing. Consistency is the key.

  2. Hi Ilona and fellow walkers,
In September I did 72 kilometers making a total of 682 so far. I am quite content with it.
Also still doing a lot of cycling, the ever enjoyable moving makes me happy and (feel) healthy.
    Cheers,
    Jeanneke.

  3. Hi Ilona.
I walked 138 miles in September so a grand total of 1,138. I went on holiday to Cornwall and did some long walks on the South West coast path.

    1. Hello tbg. Oooooh, I am so jealous. Cornwall and the SWCP. A fabulous area to walk. You could stop now, you have completed the challenge. Only joking. This is a lifelong challenge. You have to keep going till you drop. As soon as this awful weather improves I will put my boots on.

  4. Hi Ilona and everyone. It's so fun to see how everyone is doing. I don't set targets and feel just being outdoors soaking in nature is the most important part. September was a good month for walking. I logged 117 miles which brings the year-to-date total to 836. It looks like October will be a nice month so I am hoping for many enjoyable days spent outdoors. Have a great month!

  5. I got in 153.65 miles this month. YTD total is 1,355.03 miles. It's lovely to know people all over are walking and tracking their miles. Very inspiring. Lynn Ewing, Pecos, NM USA

  7. I count steps not miles and my steps have gone down the past few years as I am now over 70. Still walk as much as I can. So maybe your target needs to decrease

    1. Hello. Good to hear from you. Yes, I need to decrease my target, and maybe think of a new challenge altogether. How about make one person a day laugh out loud. I am known to be a bit of a joker around here. To do that I need to go out every day and chat with people. Yesterday it happened at the Coffee Morning. I just open my mouth and a cheeky quip spills out.

Hello everyone and well done all. A bit late checking in I managed 95 miles in September bringing my total to 809. October has started out with good weather so that makes it more pleasant to be outside plus garden work is winding down.

    1. Hello Catherine. Thanks for checking in. Good to hear from you. The weather here is so changeable, too much rain and not enough sunshine. You are doing really well. Almost there, one more push and you have cracked it.
