Good evening. It's very windy tonight.
Just checking in. This is where I am up to with this woolly project. It measures 21 inches by 14 inches. I need to make four smaller swirls to fill in the gaps. It will not have straight edges. Next I need to think about what size backing board shall I fasten it to. It needs to be rigid to fix hangers on the back. Not sure if it will have a border or not, or will the board be cut to the exact size around the curved edges. Does it need a border? I don't like that the circles don't fit together perfectly and there are gaps between them. I didn't want to squash them in so they would become misshapen. I will look for something to fill the gaps, beads maybe. Maybe I will add a button to the centre of each swirl. Does it need it. It does need something added to it to make it more arty, more interesting. I will play with ideas.

ReplyDeleteIt's a bit stop and start at the moment, where I ponder which direction to go in. Such is the creative mind. I wander in and out of every avenue.
DeleteThat sort of thing would make a good place mat or, if larger, a serving mat goes a hot serving dish. Very colourful.
ReplyDeleteIf you wanted to make something useful with the weaving, place mats would work well. It would be difficult to clean up any spillages though.
