- Hi there, I retired from 32 years of lorry driving, and now at 64, I am having a wonderful life. When I was in my mid fifties I got fed up of working all hours, and decided to go part time, which reduced my income. I learnt to manage on less money, most of what I picked up was from my mother. We had very little money as a family when I was growing up. The trick is not to spend more than you earn. Simple really, but many fail to grasp that and find themselves in an awful mess. So, my blog is about being careful about what I spend my pension on, so that I have enough money to do the things I want to do. Cutting down on my day to day living expenses, so I can pay for my car, holidays, and days out. You don't need loads of money to have a good life. Toodle pip.
