I looked at a piece of plastic and saw a face. I saw a robot, an alien, a strange creature from another planet. It had eyes, a mouth, and hands.
Then I saw a spaceship, and it had windows. It's eyes have bionic vision, being able to see in all directions without moving. The flames glow red at the tips giving it the extra thrust it needs to leave the earths atmosphere and fly a million light years through the universe.
There was a slash with jagged edges, it had been in a battle and was bleeding.
Looking out of the windows I saw ten little faces, miniature robots, not yet fully formed. They are waiting patiently for the right time to leave the parent robot.
I think it makes a nice centre piece above my fireplace.
And this is how it began, a piece of wrecked car.
What did I use to create this. Coloured vinyl, two flip tops from shampoo bottles, six curly electric cables, six pieces of wire, hearing aid battery pack, the batteries replaced with beads, a pewter cat earring, a floppy disc, three silver discs from key rings, vinyl silk emulsion paint, and acrylic paint. It cost me virtually nothing. I think it's turned out quite good, exactly how I imagined it. Toodle pip.
Brilliant, just brilliant.

What vision you have to turn scrap into something so beautiful. That is lovely, and very clever.
ReplyDeleteYou are so imaginative! I`m sure Renault would love to see your creation :-)
ReplyDeleteFantastic. It's a bit different to my vision of an angel. I like your version much better.
ReplyDeleteVery creative and well done! When I look at the scrap metal I see a bird. I'm not sure I could bring it to life so nicely like you do. Have a wonderful weekend.
ReplyDeleteWOW! Ilona! A fabulous 'one of a kind' piece of artwork.

Oh my gosh, that is FANTASTIC!! You looked at that piece of junk metal and saw THAT?? I tip my hat to you. Love it. It was certainly worth the wait. That kind of art brings in quite a pretty penny....well done Ilona!!
ReplyDeleteWow!
ReplyDeleteDo you take your passion for art into your local community? You could inspire many people with your talent. Great stuff!!
ReplyDeleteLove it! And where you hung it is great. Yes, like lizp2000 said, I bet the car manufacturer would get a kick out of seeing what you did with that. Very creative and imaginative.
ReplyDeleteAmazing, I love it. You have a brilliant imagination.
ReplyDeleteWow....only you would see that. Now step away from the cans of cider!!

Fantastic piece of work Ilona! You will soon have enough for an exhibition.
ReplyDeleteDitto to everyone else's comments. You have an amazing gift! To be able to see the beauty in the junk and to be able to execute your vision.
ReplyDeleteAnd with sense of humour!
Love it!
Amazing. How you are able to transform junk into art is really amazing. What a wonderful imagination you have and how lucky you are to be able to translate that to your art.
ReplyDeleteDitto Ditto ditto....brilliant, very Salvador Dali esq. I took a book out of the library yesterday by Tammy Kushnir, it's called elemental journal. She makes things out of discarded items. The one I liked most was the minute handmade book, inside a plastic holder from a memory card..they're about 2 cms by 4cms. I was reminded of you while I was reading it
ReplyDeleteVery creative!
ReplyDeleteJust amazing!!!
ReplyDeleteThat is brilliant! The blood turned out wicked
ReplyDeletescary. Amazing piece of real art.

Astonishing ! Have you thought about submitting it to an art show or art fair. See if there is an artists guild near you and join !
ReplyDeleteHi,from Jan.Wow,well worth the wait. What imaagination you have, such talent and humour thrown in for good measure.Would it change you if you were 'discovered'?Somehow,I don't think it would,it's being so genuine that makes it extra special.Awaiting your next project.
ReplyDeleteWhat a weird but creative mind you have Ilona..... it's truly an amazing piece of work but I think if it were hanging in my room I would have nightmares! Well I do anyway, this would make them worse lol
ReplyDeleteBrilliant piece of artwork. Well done!
ReplyDeleteI love it! :)
ReplyDeleteHi Ilona
ReplyDeleteI haven't been online for a few days and have just seen your masterpiece, I LOVE it.
You really should do more and have an exhibition, I'm sure people would love it too.
I especially like the little hands, could do with those on a crazy block in the appropriate setting.

AWESOME!!!
ReplyDeleteLove the Sci-Fi theme. :)
This is fantastic. You're so creative it's ridiculous. You should put a little photo of what it used to be like on the mantelpiece so people can see what it was before. They'd never believe you if you told them haha.
