Fashionable dog walking gear ;o)

Hello. No matter what the weather, dogs have to go outside for the toilet. But it's cold, mum. Stop complaining Rocky, you have your coat on.
If you wrap up for a dog walk, it's still flippin freezing. Tip, wear a longish woolen skirt over the top of your trousers, over the top of your leggins. Tuck your leggins into the top of a pair of long thick socks. Wear a thick padded jacket with a furry lined hood, over a fleece, over a sweat shirt, over a long sleeved T shirt, and over a short sleeved T shirt. Gloves and boots and a scarf are essential apparel as well in wintry conditions. My jacket was given to me a few years ago. I bought the skirt a few years ago from a charity shop for 50p. Charity shop boots. I don't care what I look like.

I've done a poop, can we go home now ?  Yes, Rocky, let's skidaddle.

Aaahhhhh, that's better. In my favourite place, bed.

Give me a shout when dinner's ready. I'm going to get some shuteye.

The snow is starting to fall. I'm off back out to do my 3 miles before it settles. I'll need a wooly hat. Thanks for popping in. Catch up soon.
Toodle pip.

  1. Nothing stops you dear Ilona. Love your cheerful post today and what a really good photo of you and little Rocky. Your neighborhood looks lovely with nice paths to walk on.

The sun is out here and may reach 60F so wish I was well enough to go out and walk today but having a problem with my balance that affects my walking keeps me inside.

    Take care all you walkers.

    1. Hello Wendy. The postman took the photo above. He made a muck up of it at the first attempt and moaned when I asked him to do it again. If I take photo's of myself I prop the camera up somewhere and set the timer, after first checking where I need to stand or sit.

  5. Rocky is such a sweetie pie bless him and I love your tips for staying warm but how do you move with all those clothes on :-) I had a t-shirt, a fleece and a coat on, with tracksuit bottoms over leggings this afternoon to sort the llamas out and I was lovely and toasty but I looked like a marshmallow man I could hardly move lol :-) I don't know how you do it. No snow here in Cornwall sadly. I love the snow :-)

    1. Hi. A Rocky walk is dead slow, more standing around so it's easy to move. I don't wear as many clothes on a 3 mile walk, I soon warm up walking fast.

  6. You look ready to face any weather, Ilona, and Rocky looks so smart in his coat. I'm a wimp when it comes to the cold, really hate it so my walk was short today.

  9. Awww ... lovely to see Rocky and so smart in his little coat .... you look pretty snazzy yourself, you can't beat layers in this weather. I like that you've matched your skirt to Rocky's coat ;-)

  10. I agree that you need lots of layers to keep warm if you have to walk with someone, or a doggy, who can't walk very fast. I can loose a layer when walking by myself.
Rocky has a lovely wee face.

  14. He is precious in his little coat.
He is such a good boy.
I often pull up my scarf to ward off the wind off my face, and not breathe in so much cold air. If I keep my neck warm it helps me tremendously.
