Hello. The weather didn't look too good first thing, thought I would be indoors for the day, so I got on with some sewing. Lunch was frozen mushrooms, ready cooked lentils, with an egg, Potato in the microwave, and iceberg lettuce. It was very filling.
The mobile library came today, I took some of my books back, and Stan had another bag of books ready for me to take away.
The weather brightened up in the afternoon, so I did my two hour, five mile walk. It was a bit breezy, but dry and surprisingly warm. No jacket needed. I came across someone I hadn't seen for ages. I used to see him quite often when I did a lot of dog walking. He has two dogs, we had a catch up chat. A bit further on, along the same stretch, I saw another man that I've seen before, who walks his dog.
I got back about 5.45pm, and just as I was about to make my dinner, I saw the beginnings of a beautiful sunset. A photo from my bedroom window.
You must've lost a lot of readers over the last 12 months Ilona. I think a lot of people are in agreement that the blog is a shadow of its former self.
ReplyDeleteLets look at the stats. Today I've had 3705 page views, yesterday was 4774. A lot of page views come in overnight from the other side of the world. This month I have had 80453 page views, and still another ten days to go. Last month it was 105706. I'm not interested in gaining readers and watching numbers.
DeleteThe blog evolves, just like my life does. It changes, I change, we all change. It would be pretty boring for me to churn out the same stuff over and over again. Some of it does follow a pattern, but I need to incorporate new ideas to stop me falling asleep.
I write this blog for me. It is about me, about my thoughts, it's a record of my life. I don't write about what I think others might like. People can make up their own mind whether they stay or leave, I don't mind what they do.
My youtube channel takes up some of my time, so I don't mind if people drift away from here. I have plenty to do. In fact I would be very happy if those who don't like me, don't like the blog, would go away and not come back.
You must have gained a lot of readers over the last 12 months, Ilona. I think a lot of people are in agreement that the blog is even better than its former self as it grows and evolves.
DeleteHow rude Kylie. Most readers enjoy Ilona's blog, and look forward to it each day. Ilona, you are doing a great job of cheering us up, in these strange times. Best wishes to you x
DeleteI decided to publish Kylie's comment because the phrase of, 'a lot of people are in agreement'. Ha, what does she know, is she the new spokesperson for my blog readers? I don't think so.
DeleteI read you every day. Rarely comment. But the blog is ace as always.
ReplyDeleteThank you Jill. I try to mix things up a bit, put a different slant on the mundane and boring. It's a mammoth task to write a blog post every day, year after year, as you well know. No one should be criticising a blogger for their content. Don't like it? Then move on.
DeleteI usually didn't come here, recently I do, because I discovered the blog and other Youtube post, and felt interested. I became very fond of you, as a person and as a creative and sensitive human being.
ReplyDeleteAccording to Covid, masks, wearing or not, I must say it's a personnal matter and I won't even touch the subject. What matters for me, is the company you give me, sometimes late at night, and the approch your way of thinking, even in what is related with family and money, is similar to mine. I don't follow no one, I told you once or twice, I'm no sheep. I started to come here, uncompromise, when I discovered you, in a research on a tutorial to recycle a blanket. As you, I read some others. 80% of them could be my kids, some are my age and yours... I have no contract with anyone, and I'm not an easy person, that someone convinces of someting, my head is over the shoulders and I like to use it in it's plenitude and capacity,...so, I will continue being here and using you as company, giving me ideas and motivation, or an example, not to be afraid, to leave home and walk, and photograph what I do, and things like that. That is what matters to me and I'm very fond of Ilona' s mood, similar to mine, despite I'm a lot more sarcastic, I must say, and to her way to look at things. Thanks for helping me !! That is what matters to me.
Thank you Gena. I haven't known you for very long, and already I am warming to you. I have noticed your pricklyness, and you have mine, so I think we will get along nicely.
DeleteI read your blog everyday too and I think it's as great as always! I look forward to the coffee chats and the camping. I also love to see what food you are eating and where you are walking. Keep up the great work, Ilona! I will be retiring soon and following your tips for a fabulous life.
ReplyDeleteThank you. I am due another video, will get around to it soon.
DeleteI disagree strongly with kylie. I read your blog every day, and really enjoy it. It keeps getting better and better.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the blog!
I am trying. Thank you.
DeleteIlona. I don't always agree with your views but thank goodness for people who still question, research and are brave enough to say how they feel. Thanks
ReplyDeleteI read what other people are saying and learn from it. Anyone can do that. Thank you for your comment.
Deletelong time daily reader here, Kylie should learn some manners, its OK for people to have different ideas, we don't all have to think the same. Ilona can write whatever she wants, its her blog.
ReplyDeleteYo lo sigo todos los dias, no hagas caso de malos comentarios. Un beso
ReplyDeleteDe nada. He cambiado de sexo en la traducción, ja ja. Un beso de vuelta a ti.
DeleteI read all your blogs & watch your YouTube channel Ilona & you have 'kept me company' all through the lockdown by going back to the start of the blog & re-reading it! . I thoroughly enjoy hearing about your frugal life, your art projects, walking adventures and especially, your cats. Take care, and keep on just being you!
