Here we have a few more pictures of the Shire Horse Show at Newark at the weekend.
Can you see me mother? It was chuffin cold. Waste of time washing the hair before I went out. Looks like a haystack.
And here is one last look at them all at the end of the day. Love how the handlers are running alongside the horses. They look like they are having a fun time. .
Here is a link to the Shire Horse Society web site. There are two videos on there, which can be seen on full screen if you click on the you tube link bottom right.
Santiago Michalek is a big fan of Shire Horses. In this video he travelled to England to visit the National Shire Horse Show at Newark last year, 2022. He has more videos on his channel if you can't get enough of Shire Horses.
Today it has been windy. I checked the summerhouse and the roof appeared to be lifting a little bit. My roping skills came in very handy. A bit like fastening a load down on a trailer. It's been standing nearly eight years now. Still dry inside. Mau Mau sleeps on the chair in there.
Thanks for popping in. See you soon. Toodle pip. ilona
Oh thank you!! Love seeing the Shire horses. I did watch Santiago Michalek's video. I saved a picture you posted a few years ago and it looks to be one of the Shire horses. The horse is in a pasture running free...really just standing...and it's black, huge, with white stockings. Living in the U.S. I've been to a Clydesdale Farm and was able to pet those beautiful giants. Both breeds are so big and lovely to see. Patty McDonald
ReplyDeleteSome super horses there. By gum, it would stretch your hips to ride one though, they are so well-sprung over the ribs. Thanks for sharing this show.
ReplyDeleteLovely to see these shire horses, my dad used to take us to the shire horse show at Peterborough showground every year it was wonderful. Looks like a great day out! Cheers, Karen
