Happy Monday. Crafty Club was a lot of fun this morning. There was a birthday to celebrate so we drank pink champagne.
Finishing off the pictures from Saturday at Newark. Sorry there are rather a lot of them, but the flower arranging was stunning. Well I thought they were. I read the judges comments, but felt that those who are supposed to be experts who did the judging were a little bit mean. In my eyes they were all fabulous. Out of all the cards I read not one of them was brimming over with compliments. Every one had some kind of nit picking comment, something not quite right about it. For goodness sake. Hours, if not days and weeks were spent putting entries together. I filled in the slip of paper for the public vote. It was very small so only one number could be recorded. They were all fantastic.
This very tall all white arrangement won best in show. Difficult to take a good photograph with such a boring background behind it.
Small arrangements on a plinth. Even these were criticized. The chairs were too big.
That's it for the Nottingham Show report.
I picked up the free gift on the way home. Does this mean I am an influencer, now that I have been paid in milk? 😎😜😇
You can see the work put into each flower arrangement. Even though we all have different preferences of what we like, that is no reason to be rude. Why not leave constructive ideas. If someone is new and lacks confidence those harsh comments could just cause them to give up. I appreciate the thought and thinking of their process. Why can’t people just be kind?!
ReplyDeleteKindness has been beaten out of us. People turn against each other for all kinds of reasons. Each one of these exhibits has been someones pride and joy. A testament to their creativity.
