Remembering

Hello. I don't think it is appropriate for me to write a blog post today, in light of the terror attacks which took place  in Paris last night, and the loss of the plane which came down over the dessert. We live in troubled times and a lot of innocent people are losing their lives. Let's remember those who are no longer with us, and the families who are grieving for their loved ones.

Please take three minutes to listen to this beautiful piece of music. It has been a favourite of mine for many years and always makes me feel very sad. Remind your husbands, wives, partners, sons and daughters that you love them, because there are a lot of broken families tonight who will never see their loved ones again.

God bless. Catch you tomorrow.

  8. it is beyond belief that some fanatics can slaughter others from a conviction that they are right and all others are wrong. Tolerance and love are needed for all people. Bless you my friend for doing what you do , to help others in the ways you do.

  10. So beautiful. It is a shame what man can do to man. When we are suppose to love one another, offer a helping hand, lean on each other, and just be kind, we end up with such as this. All because of jealousy and hatred of people they don't even know. :( Thanks Ilona.

  11. All acts of violence and terror are sad. But I think it's a shame that we only show support for France, and not Lebanon, as they had terror attacks the day before. It seems a Western life is worth about 100 non Western lives, to the Western media. My children are English-Middle Eastern. For me, all terror and war is unacceptable, whether it is in France or Lebanon or Japan. Why is France more special than Lebanon, especially considering its colonial history. We need to see that all humans are equal. Jesus was from the Middle East. Would we consider him less than the French? So I think these attacks are no different to any attacks we see, each week.

    1. I think the Media has a lot to do with that. The ordinary decent people of this country condemn all violence and killings anywhere in the world.

    2. Nobody said France is more special than Lebanon. There is bound to be more media coverage of terror attacks when they happen to our near neighbours. We feel an infinity with France because their lifestyle mirrors our own.

  13. I think we need to try and keep things in perspective, the world is not getting any worse we are just, thanks to the marvels of modern technology, hearing about everything that happens.

Thanks you for the lovely music, anything beautiful is needed at this moment in time to drown out the horrors that mankind inflicts on mankind.
