A bit of good news.

Hello. The weather has been rubbish again today, so I haven't been anywhere, not even for a walk. Ken came round this morning after he had taken Bailey poodle  a walk. We had a natter and a coffee, and he said he is off on holiday for two weeks soon. I said I would do the morning dog walk and ask Brenda to do a couple more extra days, and ask Jane if she would help out as well. We can cover it between us while he is away.

I got the documentation through the post for the RAC membership, from the insurance broker. It is £40 cheaper than renewing direct with them. A good saving.

Had to get on the phone to my utilities supplier today, and was surprised that they answered straight away. I haven't had a bill since I paid the last one in November. I gave them updated readings so hopefully the bill will arrive shortly. It will be two quarterly bills combined into one, so it will be a bit high. Not to worry, I always keep money in the kitty to pay for it.

A bit of good news, it looks like I will be having my own art exhibition sometime this year. I need to chose the dates from the availability list at the Burton upon Trent Library. So I will be following in the footsteps of my Uncle Stan. I'm a bit excited. I hope to have some more pieces finished by then.

They are talking about me on Shoestring Cottage blog, have you seen it? Jane sent me some questions and I answered them. She is doing a series of questions and answers with various bloggers, First off was Katy Kicker, there will be more to follow.

I'm having to fight a cat off here, Heidi wants my attention, so I'll have to go. Thanks for popping in, we'll catch up soon.
Toodle pip.

  2. I wondered if you would, at some point, have your art on show, but thought it would be more local. What a long way from home. I know you were from that area originally, but what made you decide to take your art works so far from home if you don't mind me asking? Will they be for sale, and will your car body art be included? I imagine you have works which we have not seen on your blog. You must be quite thrilled.

    1. Hi. I haven't really looked for anywhere nearer home to show my art, can't think of any places in or around Scunthorpe. Artists travel all over the country with their exhibitions. Burton upon Trent is a busy town, only 95 miles away. Lots of people will be visiting the library, and there will be a story there for the newspapers. Yes, there will be some for sale, and I will take most of what I have.

Have a good day. It's very wet here but I had a nice walk in Derbyshire with my group yesterday. There's a post about it over at mine if you are interested. I expect you will have walked some of it on previous holidays :0)

  16. Loved your responses to the questions on Jane's blog. They were very well put.
Also congrats on the art exhibition. Is it a public or private venue and did you have to pay or were you invited? Either way, really exciting and a great way to get your name out there as an artist.

    1. Hi. It's in the main public library, just off the High Street. The display area is just inside the main entrance, anyone can walk in to see it. I have to pay a small charge, it will be a two week exhibition, date to be arranged.

    2. Hi Illona, So great for you! Our library has a display area and invites patrons to display their collections or art work. I think it's a great idea. Not to laugh but I had a month-long display of my cabbage patch dolls there a year ago, lol. Libraries provide so many services and make the internet accessible to those who don't have access. I just worry sometimes that public libraries will go the way of dinosaurs because of amazon and other online sources for ebooks and media. I encourage everyone to use their library because it affects the funding that they receive.

    1. Two cats is correct. She took the blurb off my sidebar, and I forgot to change it when Bugsy died, so my fault.
