I remember Meat Loaf

Sad news this morning, Meat Loaf has gone. One of my favourite rock singers. Loved his energy. I remember seeing him at the NEC in Birmingham. Good memories. Rest in Peace.
We'll catch up later.   ilona

  2. Definitely one of a kind, and perfect tracks for making a long and otherwise boring car journey pass more quickly. also really enjoyed his album with Bonnie Tyler.

  3. I met him at the Brit Awards 1993 and have a photo of us together. I have his Bat Out Of Hell CD in my music collection.

  4. Yet another verse to add to Abraham, Martin and John:
"Has anybody here seen my old friend Meatloaf?
Can you tell me where he's gone?
He freed a lot of people but it seems the good die young.
I just looked around and he was gone."
Interesting coincidence that the song was sung by a Marvin, amongst others, and Meatloaf was born Marvin.
If you want to live a long time, don't be a rock musician. The odds are against you.
I might never have heard of Meatloaf, if it wasn't for my son playing his music as a teenager in the Nineties. Being a teenager in the Sixties, I used to think that good music finished in 1969. I was wrong. I'd Do Anything for Love is right up there with the best of them.
    Goodbye my old friend.
    Rest In Peace.

  5. It appears that he had a lot of health problems. It surprises me that some of the aged rockers are still going strong. Drugs sex and rock and roll has not wrecked all of their bodies.

  6. A unique singer and entertainer. We don't get his kind now.

  7. So sad if reports are true he died of covid.
He was a fantastic performer, I was introduced to his music at work, a colleague bought me his bat out of hell album and I loved it. Sadly the colleague died at a young age of cancer, so I thought about two people when I read about his death yesterday.
