Money worries

I don't do many money saving posts these days, that's because I am not skint and don't need to worry about how I am going to pay for things. I have built up a buffer to cover bills, whether they are expected or unexpected. In the next couple of months the road tax and insurance for the car will be due. These will be paid in full for the coming year.

I am well aware that many people have a lot of money worries. Anyone who wants advice can find it all over the internet. There are money saving bloggers, forums, and Facebook groups to find help.

Martin Lewis has a good site, Money Saving Expert, he also Tweets every day and is very much in demand for TV programmes. He has just Tweeted asking people send in their money saving tips, some of which will be broadcast on BBC 5live tomorrow. He has received 1300 replies. If you need some money saving ideas check out this Twitter thread. You can add your own money saving tips here if you so wish.

Thanks for popping in. Toodle pip.   ilona

  1. I'm having to be careful with money this month because 3 of my dogs vaccinations were due and their various medicines -Though the fire is lit I decided to sit inside my sleeping bag on the sofa x

    1. Even though I have enough money to live on I am still being careful. It is not in my nature to be wasteful.

    1. Thank you for reading. Pick out the bits that interest you and discard the rest. It would be nice to know your name.

    1. Hello marlane. Stopping all comments gives me a rest. However there are one or two, maybe more, trolls who dig out old posts which are still open, and send nasty comments there. I feel sorry for them. They are not having a good life.

  4. I have found the best money saving tip is stay out of the stores. Also avoid Amazon. I am a reformed thrift store addict.

    1. Good tips Carol. My tip when I retired was stop spending. It worked well and now I can relax a bit. Well done on finding your way to a good life.

  5. Many thanks for allowing comments again. I really missed being able to join in but can understand your need for a break. I save money by buying most of what I need from charity shops or get stuff for free from skips. If I’m patient enough what I want will turn up eventually.
