Free milk shake

Good evening. Just a quick one tonight, I've been out all day. I went to the Nottingham County Show at Newark Showground. It was a smashing day out. The people at the Milk Shed were pleased with the blog post. They sent me a message to call in when I am passing and get a free drink. And so on the way back I did just that. I got a free bottle of strawberry milkshake. It's flippin lovely.

I'll edit the show photos tomorrow and post them here. Now I am going to cuddle Mayze, she is waiting patiently. Thanks for popping in. Enjoy your Sunday. Toodle pip.   ilona

  1. Have you thought about buying a prepaid mastercard for things such as buying at this dairy outlet. We can buy them anywhere you buy giftcards/vouchers. Anywhere from $25 to as much as you want to load onto them. No credit check and no registration as to who owns it. They are very popular as gifts to young people because of this.

I've won several in raffles at work and have given them to my son.

    1. Hello 50. No, I haven't thought about that. To me, that system feels like trickery. Just another layer to get people primed into using a card instead of cash. A card that you have to pay for in advance, so they get your money before you use it. Just another way to fleece us. Another push to bring in complete digital currency giving the banks full control of our finances. Personally I don't mind missing out on things I can't have. Less choice means a much simpler life. It's a shame that I can't buy milk from this farm, but I fully understand why they had to do it.

  4. That's very nice of them! I've had a credit card for 40+ years. I pay it off each month and find it very useful for online purchases. Cash is still by far my preferred way to pay in shops. I don't like the rush to go cashless and using real physical money is my way of resisting it. Anyone who thinks an entirely cashless system is a good thing should look at the chaos in Spain and Portugal recently and revise their opinion.

    1. Those who sing the praises of cards and phone payments should keep their eyes and ears wide open so they can make alternative arrangements for when the whole system collapses.

    1. I hope the business at Home Farm continues to grow. We must support British farmers.

  6. I do enjoy a strawberry milkshake, my favourite. Sadly I now have to just enjoy the bottled ones. Years ago, when on holiday in Newquay in Cornwall, in the 1990's, there was a fabulous little cafe which made the best strawberry milkshakes I've ever tasted. Made from scratch when ordered, they contained fresh strawberries and vanilla ice cream. Delicious.
Sadly after many years of enjoying their delights, we returned one year to discover that the cafe/milk bar had disappeared and been replaced by an Indian takeaway.
