We're ending Britain's open borders experiment.
For too long, businesses were actively encouraged to bring in lower paid workers, rather than invest in our own people.
We’re fixing the system and restoring control to our borders.
Here’s how. Thread
Our current system is not selective enough about who comes to the UK. We’re raising the skills threshold to degree-level to make sure we attract people who can grow our economy.
So, they will all have to prove that they have a degree before they are allowed to come in?
We’re increasing the Immigration Skills Charge paid by employers when employing overseas workers. This charge has remained static since 2017. By raising the fees, we're encouraging businesses to create opportunities and career progression for British workers.
I don't think they are going to like that.
We’re raising English language requirements across every main immigration route, ensuring those wishing to live and work here speak English. And for the first time, adult dependents on those routes will also be required to have a basic understanding of English.
Who is going to conduct the English tests?
We’re introducing a new contributions-based model to settlement and citizenship. Extending the length of time a person needs to live in the UK from five to 10 years, with reductions for those who contribute to economy. Settlement in the UK is a privilege, not a right.
So how are you going to keep track of all these people after you have scattered them all over the UK?
We’re rolling out Digital IDs and eVisas for all overseas citizens. Making it easier for Immigration Enforcement Officers to track down and take action against those who try to stay here illegally.
You've got to catch them first.

My comment. He's tinkering around the edges. He is trying to patch things up with a sticking plaster. He can't stop immigration so he waffles. He is not in control of the UK, he is being controlled.

So is he going to deport all the illegal immigrants who don't have a degree/speak fluent English? How is he going to secure our channel coastline? Will he stop rescuing and bringing ashore the boat people if they don't have a degree? Where will he deport them to?
ReplyDeleteThe worrying part is farmers and care homes depend on foreign workers but it's unlikely they will have a degree.
I think we have to accept that if they manage to make any changes at all they won't make a difference to the increasing numbers of people who plan to come here. He makes no mention of stemming the flow of new arrivals. We can safely say that all of this is just talk. They haven't got a clue, or the inclination, to bring these changes about.
DeleteEach and every one are all talk
ReplyDeleteAnd so it was with the get jabbed campaign, and the climate crisis which has taken over from that. The net zero myth, and the change gender surge. They are pushing in one direction. It's their plan for going forward and they will not back down.

ReplyDeleteWithout real, meaningful, numbers of deportations (in the hundreds lof thousands) of illegals already here, and a total block on any channel invaders being allowed to set foot on English soil, this will do nothing to curtail the invasion. The Australian government showed how to stop the boats, but neither Starmer nor his predecessors had the guts to do what is necessary. And pixie Cooper at the Home Office is about as useful as a chocolate fireguard.
ReplyDeleteYour observations are correct, in my opinion. They don't know how how many of them are already here. Only a small fraction of them are documented, the rest have scarpered to embed themselves who knows where, never to be found again. Any government hasn't a hope in hells chance of sorting the mess out. Those already here will be procreating like mad. Claiming to be a father gives them bargaining power to claim their right to be here. All those people who did not vote at all could have prevented this.
DeleteThere are many lowly paid jobs here in the UK that depend on foreign workers.
ReplyDeleteAnd also many professional jobs too because there aren’t enough qualified UK citizens.
Why do you show so much hatred and resentment towards such people ?
I don't hate anyone. I don't blame people for wanting a better life, we all do. These people are being trafficked. Hate should be aimed at the richest people on earth, the Globalists, who are bringing about the the destruction of the western world. They are the real enemy. Immigrants, legal or illegal, are just pawns. I would be more inclined to have a conversation with you if you told me who you are. What is your name? Hiding behind the Anonymous label is cowardice. I guess you could be an immigrant yourself..
