Let's go to the Yorkshire Sculpture Park.

Good morning from me as I enter my 77th year on this planet. Life has been good so far, I can only hope that it will continue. None of us knows what will happen in the future. Yesterday has gone, we can't change it, but we can vow to make the future better.
I went to the Yorkshire Sculpture Park. I parked in the nearby village of West Bretton and walked to the park. Some of my regular readers will remember that I have been here before. It's a couple of miles off the M1 Motorway so easy to find. I'll put some links at the bottom of this post to my previous visits.
It's a huge park, let's have a look at some of the sculptures. I have tried not to photograph those I have seen before.

Ooops, these naked men have appeared on a previous post.
With the sun shining bright it's difficult to find the perfect angle to minimise the shade. This is the back of the sculpture. All you can see of the man is his legs and feet. The rest of him is lost in what looks like draped sheets. Some blurb about the artist below.

Some parts pf the buildings were closed, due to installing new artworks, and refurbishing ready for the summer season. I will have to go back towards the end of the year to see how this sculpture looks in it's upright position.

These next three sculptures are to be found in the Formal Terrace Garden.

Wandering around the other side of the lake, I came across this gigantic head positioned in a clearing.
This is more my thing, bright colours and quirky.

There's more to come, but if you are interested you can follow the links to my previous posts about the Yorkshire Sculpture Park.

I'll finish this post here. More to come from my visit yesterday. I have lots to do today.

Thanks for popping in. Have a good weekend. Toodle pip.   ilona

  1. All that great sunshine made for a great day out I am sure. Did you get yourself a magnum while we’re out? Sounds like your friends and family made your day special.

    1. I thought about getting a Magnum, but decided I've had enough treats in the last week. The day was special, I made it so. Even a simple walk around the lake was magical. I have a few nice friends, but alas, some of my family don't speak to me at all, and the others I only hear from once a year at Christmas.

  3. So pleased you had a great day out. The Yorkshire Sculpture park is amazing and has come a long way since the early days.
Sorry that you have toxic family members - I do too and have decided it’s best to move on and leave them to their own devices.

    1. We have never been a close knit family. Relationships have always been strained with one person in particular. It came to a head three years ago and we haven't spoken since. I can do without it.
