How lucky

After a long and tiring day, it is pure heaven to come home to my little furry family. To microwave the rest of the chips which I couldn't manage earlier, it was a huge portion, to eat the second cheese and salad sandwich which I didn't fancy earlier, and to pour the last glass of wine from a bottle I opened on Wednesday. How lucky I am to have a nice home to come back to. And how blessed I am to have such a nice friend in Janet who was with me today as we worked together to fundraise for our cat rescue. I sit here tonight in my lovely home, happy with my life, and I count my blessings.

Be back tomorrow with some pictures. Toodle pip.

  5. It's good to have those moments and days when we realise how lucky and blessed we are in our lives. There is something about the media and people in general that want us to focus on all the things we do not have. But it's much better to focus and enjoy all the things we do have. Looking forward to hearing all about your day.

  6. Nothing better than a furry friend (or two) to make a house into a home. Coupled with a meal you don't need to cook...perfect!

  10. Glad you did really well, I am off to an animal charity fund raiser tonight so have been baking cakes to sell! I was married to a not very nice person for a long time and foolishly stuck it out for the sake of my now adult children. I met my fiancé 7.5 years ago and although we don't have much money we have so much love and happiness it matters very little really, so long as we can get by. I had a massive first wedding with no expense spared but in a few weeks we are getting married on such a shoestring it's not true and we could not be happier. We are both thankful every day for what we have.

  14. Good to see you're keeping yourself warm in front of the gas fire Ilona. But do you know that it costs the same to run your central heating as it does to have one bar of a gas fire on, so you could keep your whole home cosy, and it doesn't create condensation like a gas fire does so you won't get those nasty mold spores growing. Keep warm and healthy Ilona.

    1. Hi Anon. Thank you for your concern, but I don't want to keep my whole house cosy. I feel ill if there is too much heat. I have no heating on at this moment. For most of the day my back door is open, and I wander from room to room. If I visit someone with heating on I can only stay for half an hour or so. I don't have any nasty mold spores in my house because the air is always circulating through it.
