Meet Rambo

Today out on my walk I met Rambo. What a handsome chap.
And also met his little friend.
A lucky find by the roadside on a grass verge. A bundle of rope. Must have fallen off a lorry. I could make some more bowls with this.
That's topped up my miles. We are near the end of the month. It's check in day for the International Walking Group on Wednesday. Best foot forward, I'll race you to the finish line.
Thanks for popping in. See ya tomorrow.   ilona

  1. What a sweetie Rambo is. Same colour and similar blaze to my first pony. The little Shetland with him looks a good age - lots of white frosting on his face, bless him.

  2. What a handsome pair! I used to ride as a hobby in my 20's but took a tumble off a big horse and broke my wrist in 5 places, so that put me off. I'm now 57 and it's just started giving me problems, as the doctors predicted! They are lovely animals though.

    1. Horse riding is not something I have got into. I would like to try it though.

    2. You will love it. Start slowly and take the time to build your body's muscle memory up of how to balance and then start to challenge yourself for a trot and a canter. It is wonderful, exhilarating. As a youth learning to ride I'd read books on how to ride and how to balance myself correctly, from rising trot to canter and gallop, and I'd visualize myself doing that before going on the next trek. My family couldn't afford a horse or pony club so that is how I taught myself, along with tips from friends who were in pony club

  4. The Rambo on his rug is the name of the brand...not his name. All of my horses wear them!

  5. Rambo is very handsome. Back in my heyday I used to ride a horse like him, his name was Scottie. I miss those days and look forward to the time when when everyone will be able to ride and care for horses if they want to, and money will be no object

  6. Rambo is a good looking horse! I walk much faster than I did a year ago which is a good thing. I walk with my husband nearly everyday. Since he's gone til late evening I may go out and walk a few blocks in the cool weather. Have a good week! Cherrio!
