Posh food shopping at M & S

Good evening. Yesterday was miserable, wet, and cold. No walking, no gardening, so what else is there to do outside. I know, let's go shopping. Just for a change I went to M & S. The traffic was a bit heavy around there because there was a football match on. Daft time to go shopping on a Saturday afternoon, especially as M & S is next to the football ground.
Have a look at what I bought.
I see that I went to M & S in 2019. There is a video about that here. I think I might have been sometime after that. I don't make a habit of doing my shopping there. It's far too expensive.
I looked around the rest of the store, while I was there. The clothes are dull and boring, no nice colours. And expensive. Give me the charity shops every time.
I picked up a few things from The Range, and Home Bargains while I was in the area.
At least it got me out of the house for a while. It was dark when I got home. Cats waiting for food.
Now I'm going to watch a video and cuddle Mayze.
Thanks for popping in. Toodle pip.   ilona

    1. Talking of soup. I made some yesterday. Celery, cauliflower, spinach, thickened with couscous. Blitzed with a stick blender. One portion left to be consumed today.

  2. One of my son's work colleagues lives completely on ready meals and take away food as he can't cook at all. He's in his 30s, never learned how to cook, and all his wages go on rent bills and food. He's always skint halfway through the month despite earning over 30k a year. Son offered to help him save money by teaching him about cooking but he's not interested as it's too much trouble. So glad all my adult children can cook and eat proper food.

    1. Only eating ready meals will take it's toll eventually. The colleague is well on the way to self destruction. It's a shame that he doesn't accept help.

  3. Bloody hell that was expensive, but if you enjoyed the shopping as entertainment why not. I don’t find shopping particularly entertaining but each to their own

    1. I don't enjoy shopping. I don't do it for entertainment. This is a one off, a fact finding mission. It confirmed what I already knew. That M & S is expensive. It will be another year before I set foot over their threshold again.

  4. I was really surprised at the price of your items, especially the M & S ones. It turns out cheaper than similar items here in Italy even from the cheaper supermarkets such as Lidl, Eurospin. Food costs here have rocketed this year and friends visiting from the UK are always surprised at the high cost of food here. Would love to wander around your M & S, Waitrose or Tesco stores, but will dream on!! Thanks for your informative videos, have a good week. Ro (n.w. italy)

    1. Some people think that M & S food is cheaper than Aldi. I can't see that myself, but I suppose it depends what your disposable income is. Thank you for your comment.

  5. I used to !go to M & S a lot years ago when I was at work. The store here closed over 6 years ago. But now I'm retired I have time to cook nutritious meals. Less additives and more satisfying.

    1. I noticed that more people were shopping in the food hall in the late afternoon. Probably been out somewhere and were picking up something convenient so they didn't have to cook when they got home.

  6. You may not realise this but many of your comments about how other people live their lives are often sarcastic.

    1. I do not have the powers to assess other people's reactions to what I say. If anyone thinks I am sarcastic, then they should assess whether they want to read or listen to me again. Humour is a form of sarcasm. Political correctness has killed humour dead. It must rise again.

There is a huge difference between humour and the snide comments you make about other people .
