Good morning. A shout out to all our members of the International Walking Group. It's time to check in with your progress reports, or non progress whichever the case may be.
I may not be an inspiration this month because I have to report that I have not been able to keep up. My mileage stands at 741. Still ok, but not as much as it ought to be.
One thing I did notice. Last night I went out at 7pm to do a three mile village walk. It was Trick or Treat so quite a lot of people about. They were meandering, I was marching on to do the distance quickly. I went to bed about 10.15pm, and had a really good nights sleep. Didn't wake up until 7am. So I definitely think that late walk helped.
Mayze cat loves her sleep. Oh for a life of being waited on hand and foot, dozing off when you feel like it, having a little wander around the garden, and snoozing in the sun whenever we get some at this time of the year.
Mayze has just woken up, she is having her first wash of the day, and now wants breakfast.
Please check in with your mileage if you are taking part in the challenge. Those who are serious about getting their exercise will probably put me to shame. I can take it. It's your health that matters.
Catch ya later. Toodle pip. ilona
Hello Ilona and fellow walkers, 77 kilometers walked in October making a total of 759 kilometers so far.
ReplyDeleteVery happy with that and in rather good health, mentally and physically, by that priceless and costless walking routine.
I am not aiming for 1000 kilometers this year but might finish rather close :>)!
Riding my normal 3 speed bike is my other daily healthy and also shopping routine since I have no car. Public transport is my go to for longer distance traveling to family or institutions.
Cheers from beautiful autumnal Dokkum in The Netherlands.
Jeanneke.
Hello Jeanneke. It's good to hear you are getting out and about. Your combination of using wheels and legs shows that the possibilities are endless to get some exercise. Well done.
Delete117 miles for this month and total of 1,355. I guess I could have stopped ages ago but all the walking keeps me fit and more importantly away from the NHS. I’ll probably ease off a bit over the winter months now that it’s darker earlier. Congratulations to everyone doing the challenge and keep moving.
ReplyDeleteHello tbg. No don't stop, but you are allowed to ease off a little. Your miles are impressive.
DeleteHello Cath from Ireland here. It was a mild October with both sunshine and storms. Plodding along on the drier days I managed 87 miles bringing my total to 896.
ReplyDeleteHello Cath. Good to hear from you. Your weather sounds similar to ours. Go out when it is dry is much more pleasurable than walking in the rain. You are nearly there kiddo.
DeleteHello Ilona and fellow walkers, my October mileage is 185km (115 miles) so that makes my total so far at 1830km (1137 miles). I'm into the habit of walking every morning between 4am-5am no matter what the weather is, I love it. Feeling great too. Phyllis, Brisbane Australia.
ReplyDeleteHello Phyllis. It's a good habit you have there. It's proof that walking is good for health. That's the main thing. Keep going.
DeleteHi everyone! My October was 114 miles which brings my YTD total to 950. Way to go Jeanneke, theboatgal, Cath and Phyllis. We all had a great month. Hope November is as productive as October! Kay in Arkansas USA.
ReplyDeleteHello Kay. Our member from across the pond. The miles recorded so far are very impressive.
Delete782 miles! I never thought I would manage more than you, Ilona. October was a very good month weatherwise. I feel that my miles should count more because there is no way to walk on a flat road here. Either I start downhill and have to go up again or the other way round. But I have to admit that sometimes I drive a few kilometers just to walk along the river on a nice flat path.
ReplyDeleteHilde in Germany
Hello Hilde. Although you are having to put a lot of effort into your walking, you are doing extremely well. I applaud your tenacity. I bemoan the fact that I live in a flat landscape, but as you say, more energy is required to tackle the hills. You must be super fit.
DeleteGorgeous photos! 90.5 this month. 14445.54 ytd. Lynn Ewing Pecos, NM USA
ReplyDeleteI think I checked in on the incorrect page earlier...oh dear. For October I walked 190891 steps....And YTD is 1932140! Yeah me ! From across the pond. Shereen
