Open spaces

It's nearly bed time, just a few words. It's been very cold today. I managed a three mile walk, nearly freezed me tits off. Thank goodness I have got a sloth on my head. We have a brown wheelie bin collection on Wednesday, the first one of the year. I wondered if I should go into the garden and do some trimming up. Hedge cutting maybe. Too cold today, maybe tomorrow. That's after Crafty Club and dog walking.
Here's a video I made yesterday.
Been busy down the Rabbit Hole today. Lots on there for you to pick through. A report from Japan. Things are going in the right direction, still a long way to go.
Ich hoffe, Sie haben einen guten Schlaf. Wir sehen uns morgen wieder. Gute Nacht. ilona

  1. Debi from Leicester.Well that was a refreshing start to my day!I felt as though I was walking along that green open space with you!.Lovely.Does this count that I have already done my 3 miles for today, lol.Ive modified my wellys today by cutting the sleeves off a jumper that had gone into holes on the back.Used the body for rags and the sleeves as leg warmers for having in side my wellys with the cuffs at the knee.Nothing ever leaves this house without it being recycled for another use, lol.I really hope that lovely green space stays and isnt made into houseing estates like it is around my way.Ive got to move my arse into gear this morning and go and get my Mams food shopping.so Ill say bye for now.Auf Wiedersehen!!xx

    1. A use for everything, that's a good attitude to have. I have just been given a fluffy big rug. A friend has bought a new one, she wanted a colour to match her decor. The purple one she gave me is lovely. I will give it a good bashing outside on the washing line tomorrow to get rid of the dog hairs, ha ha.

  2. Absolutely agree, green space is needed! No new land will be made after all, it's a scarce commodity. There's a housing crisis (for lots of reasons), but round here all the smaller starter or family homes are bought up by second home owners to faff about in them at weekends. They bring all their food and supplies in with them so they're fully self sufficient - no need to spend money locally. We wouldn't need as much building land if people weren't stockpiling existing houses. Great walk, thanks for taking us along. Keep doing what you're doing. Cheers, Karen

    1. It doesn't seem fair that people are living rough when there are empty houses.

  3. Thank you for the sentiment in your last line…it is good that you are trying to learn German. It is not wise, however, to rely on something such as Google translate as you come up with “machine speak” as opposed to “human speak”. If you wanted to say it in human you would say:
Ich hoffe Sie schlafen gut und bis morgen.

    Often less is more

    1. Hello Monika. Thank you for your help. I am not trying to learn German, it is too late. I was playing around with Google translate for a bit of fun. I tried to learn the language when I was a child. Sitting in the kitchen when my mother was doing the cooking and washing. She taught me a lot of words. I learnt some songs parrot fashion but never knew what they meant. An opportunity to become bi lingual was lost. If my mother had spoken to us in German in the house, I would have grown up speaking both languages. Unfortunately my father stepped in and said no, she must speak English now she is in England. Years later I met my German brother. Luckily he learnt English in school, so we managed to have conversations.
