Shades of pink and purple

Photos from my local walk yesterday. I didn't expect to be taking many photographs because I have done the park many times before. All the trees, the flowers, the Hall inside and out, the woods, the deer, the museum, the train, the ducks around the pond, the pet cemetery, the walled garden, the stables, the courtyard, and in all the seasons. What else is there?

I know. Let's make it an only shades of pink rule. But then there is also a lot of purple as well. Hence the title was born. Limiting myself to these colours made me look more closely at every bit of the park. It encouraged me to walk further, to get in a few more miles.

Well this had to be done, didn't it. 😎😇😜 A new flavour Magnum ice cream.
If you are a photographer you might like to have a go at this challenge. Choose one or two colours and search them out.
Crafty Club this morning, full house. Then to Angela's for another coffee and chat. Now I have some hedge trimming to do in the garden. Thanks for popping in. Toodle pip. ilona

Winterton Show - the parade

Led by the Lincolnshire Fire and Rescue Concert Band. Followed by the vintage tractors with decorated trailers. Bringing up the rear the Heatwave Majorettes.
Lovely to see everyone cheering them on as they made their way to the Showground yesterday.
Today I did a local walk and got caught in the rain on the way back. Managed to get shelter under a tree. Good job I had the brolly.

Winterton Agricultural Show

I couldn't make my mind up this morning, should I go to the Winterton Show, or not bother. I have been before, several times. Would there be anything different this year. You could say this show is well established, it's been going for 152 years. Rain was forecast for the weekend, it's a two day show, so I went today, just in case it rains tomorrow. I was lucky. There was a heavy shower so I retreated into one of the large tents until it passed over.
I parked my car at the opposite end of Winterton, because I wanted to walk a good distance as well. Outside the Co op the majorettes were practising their moves. Further on as I walked to the Showground they came up behind me. I quickly swapped cameras and recorded a video of the whole parade. I'll post that tomorrow when I get it uploaded.
There was a lot going on to keep everyone entertained. Horses, cattle, sheep, vintage tractors, classic cars, archery, demonstrations in the ring, as well as a lot of charity and trade stands, plus of course the Funfair, and food stalls. I had a good look around the Enterprise Tent and the Craft Tent.
Embroidery in a hoop.
A purse made with lollypop sticks.

Hand painted mandala.

Wreaths for every season.

Paintings of animals, by children.
Collage by children.

Photography competition.

Teddy bears wearing hand knitted costumes.
This is fantastic. Models of an old derelict garage and vintage trucks, all hand made. The detail is amazing.

Only two big custom trucks. This Peterbilt is a beauty.

After the heavy shower the sun came out. A nice end to the day. I had a walk around the rest of Winterton to top up my miles. Pleased that I made the effort to go.

Billy and me.

There was a funeral at the church this morning. The lady who passed away was a dog lover. Her family put a notice out asking for people to bring along their dogs. Several of us stood outside the church when the car arrived just before 11am.
Billy was enjoying the company of the other dogs. They were all smaller than him. The family thanked us for attending. After the coffin was carried into the church and the service began Billy and me went a walk.

This afternoon I did a five mile walk, without Billy. He can't walk that far. It has been sunny for most of the day.

More of the same

"We did it,” says Starmer. They didn’t do anything. They didn’t have to. They were handed a majority by default. They just had to wait. Like vultures at a corpse.

Klaus is still in charge. Will be interesting to watch. Yes I voted, for the person who I thought would be best for the job. It wasn't either of these.
Starmer didn't win the election, it was handed to him on a plate. So says Godfrey Bloom.

Closing

And still they keep coming. The idiotic stupid comments. The cruel taunts. The bullying. The attacks on my integrity. The nitpicking. The sarcasm. The criticisms. Every day they rear their ugly head-s. Their obsession to cause disruption and pull me down is a sign of their mental instability.

Thank you for your supportive comment Debi. I won't publish it but thank you for taking the time to write it. There is no reasoning with people who are so mentally unstable. Unfortunately I am not able to block individuals on here. The only thing I can do is to close all comments, except from those who sign up to be a member. And I don't blame people for not wanting to do that.

I need a rest from sorting out the genuine comments from the garbage. If they think they can bully me into abandoning the blog, no chance. I am in it for the long haul.

Thank you to the genuine and supportive readers for sticking with me.

Exciting.

Excitement in the street tonight. It's Prom Night at the school, and one young lad has the best transport to take him there. Look at this then. WOW. Friends and family and all the neighbours were out to see him off. He was beaming and waving at everyone.

Enjoy laddie. You will be the envy of all your mates.

Face to face,

A little chat I did this morning in front of the camera.
It's all very well communicating over the internet, reading blogs and commenting. Sending messages via what's ap or facebook, or watching videos and commenting, or communicating by telephone or letter. Using modern technology is quick and easy to get a message across, but the true meaning can be lost in transit.
The best way by far is face to face where possible. Reading body language and understanding the meaning of facial expressions, is a visual indication of how the conversation is going. Then it is easier to decide if the conversation should continue or should it be terminated.
Communication is so muddled that often the meaning of words can be misconstrued. Speaking to someone face to face means that misunderstandings can be ironed out in an instant, and conflicts need not be dragged on and descend into a verbal punch up.

Another Election Special.

Just to even things out. . . . . . .
Ha ha. Jonathan does it again.

You choose

Not a party political broadcast.
Whichever one of these you vote for, you will get more of the same. They are both puppets of the globalists. Yes, you may scoff, roll your eyes, oh here she goes again. I can take it.

No point in getting your knickers in a twist, pulling your hair out, cursing and swearing because your party did not win. You will only drive yourself into an early grave. Stress accelerates fear and despair, which brings on depression. You choose, fight or flight.
Vote for whoever you prefer, then get on with the rest of your life.

Talking to a stranger

I spent the morning chatting with friends at the Coffee Morning. After lunch I decided to go for a walk and chose a route that I haven't been on for several weeks. I was on a track next to a wood, day dreaming, my mind elsewhere. A cyclist whizzed past me and I hadn't heard him coming. He passed pretty close and I cursed under my breath. He could have given me some warning, ring a bell or shout. When I got to the next village I was in need of a rest. Lo and behold, there was the cyclist, also having a rest.
I started a conversation with two women who were there having a picnic. Then they left, so I struck up a conversation with the cyclist. He had an accent but spoke good English. We were there ages, there was such a lot to talk about. He told me he is Polish and came here for work. That was a few years ago, he bought a house and has paid off his mortgage. He told me about his daughter going to uni. He works double shifts at a factory but said he wanted to stop and was considering other jobs to train for. We talked about all kinds of things, he was very interesting. When it was time to make a move he thanked me for the chat and said it had helped him with his English.
This is the memorial bench that I sometimes sit at. The footpath is very overgrown with grass and weeds. It hasn't been cut for some time. It looks like Trevor who usually comes to tidy up, hasn't been for ages. I doubt he would get his car down here.
All the paths are overgrown, it makes it difficult to avoid tripping up or twisting an ankle.
Eight miles done. Trying to catch up.

The ducks have been and the hedgehog has eaten. Mayze has found herself a new bed under the table outside the back door. I can see her from the window. I will bring her in shortly, she won't want to stay out there all night.

I have been checking out all the candidates in our area to try and decide who to vote for tomorrow. There are two who I definitely won't be putting a cross against. Whatever happens, either red or blue, I can say that I didn't vote for them. Then when it all goes tits up, which it will whoever wins, I can say, not my fault.

A bit of this and that

We have a new coffee morning starting up in the village. It is at the church on a Tuesday morning, at the same time that the Post Office opens. I went this morning as usual, to take some cash out for my weekly spending, then popped into the next room for a coffee and biscuits. It's a good idea to use the church for recreational purposes, but I don't think I will be partaking of refreshments every week. Two morning clubs a week is enough.
I was on my hands and knees this afternoon, pulling weeds up. Oh my, not good for the back. I can only do about half an hour of that, then I have to stand up and stretch.
My resident ducks have gone missing. I saw a neighbour from up the street. She says they are in her garden, and they are nesting. One duck did turn up here this afternoon for a short time. It came running towards me when I went out with the food. Now it's gone again.
This afternoon necessitated a vets visit. Mickey has a bloody ear. Looks like he has been in a bit of a scuffle with another cat. I don't know which one. There is a bit of rivalry between the three of them. He will be alright.
No more news today. I put this video on yoootooob yesterday, so I might as well post it here to fill a space.
The sun is out and now, I will go for a walk.

Election Special

Good morning. Jonathan Pie has done it again. I don't know how he gets away with it. It's a wonder he hasn't been banned from every social media platform on the internet. One thing's for sure, he will never make it to main stream media. OMG no, can't have him spouting such garbage on the Beeeeeb.
He is funny though.

Failed.

Good morning. Six months have gone by since we started the walking challenge. Walk 1000 miles in one year. How are you all doing? Time to check in here.
I have a confession to make, I have failed to reach the 500 mile target. Oh chuffin heck. How did that happen.
There are only so many hours in a day, only seven days in a week, and only 12 months in a year. Working out how I'm going to allocate time to all that I want to do is becoming more difficult. I know, excuses excuses.
I am 50 miles short at the moment. How am I going to make that up? Well there is only one way, I have to up my game. I have to rejig my priorities. There is pressure on me now to increase my miles to absorb the shortfall. Will I do it, I don't know, but I will try.
Here is a sunset pic from the archive.
Walkers check in here. Are you ahead of the game, or are you lagging behind?

Thanks for popping in. Catch ya later. Toodle pip.   ilona

Dear Troll

The answer is with you dear Troll. Why are you bullying me? What is it in your psyche that makes you want to hit out? You are only damaging yourself. Work on making your own life better.
Lots of love.   ilona.   xxx
