 Will they keep pushing ahead to build more solar farms? At which point will they declare that we now produce enough electricity for the needs of the whole of the UK, through solar and wind power, and we can now stop ripping up the countryside. With never ending wars it might mean that the availability of gas and oil from other countries will eventually dry up and come to a halt altogether. So perhaps it might be a good idea that we learn to live with all the hardware cluttering up the place we call home.

The Government is trumpeting that Ed Milliband has said 'yes' to Britain's largest solar farm - right here in North Kesteven. What it's not saying is that they've ignored the wishes of local people, and that more than 4,000 acres of beautiful, productive Lincolnshire agricultural land will now be come industrial glass.

At North Kesteven District Council we'll press to make sure the community benefits promised by the developer actually materialise. And that the technology chosen for the scheme's battery banks will be the safest, not just the cheapest.

We need secure, renewable energy. We also need secure, home-produced food and a countryside to grow it in. I'm really not sure this decision gets the balance right

Is Ed Milli losing the plot? Is he on a mission to replace our food growing pastures with miles upon miles of plastic hardware, and industrial size battery storage facilities. It's going to be one huge and ugly  blot on the landscape, that's if we have any landscape left.
