Twisted words

Good morning. It seems that clever people, or should I say those who had a better education than me, have the ability to mould a string of words into some kind of creative masterpiece. I am no wordsmith but I like the process of jiggling words around. Years ago it meant lots of scribbles in notebooks, now we can edit as we go.

As I am getting older, the jiggling becomes more difficult. I know what I want to say, but how much time do I allocate to composing something that interests me. The thing is that if you let your guard down and say what you really think, people will jump on you like a ton of bricks. Pull you apart, and dissect your words piece by piece.

The evidence of this happening is all around us. Words can be carefully manipulated to mean something completely different to the original thought process. Such is the complications of the human brain.

I see that there are shouts for Elon's twitter to be shut down. There is a story in The Independent on how to delete your account on the platform. Albert Toth is the journo who wrote this. He has the title of Audience Reporter. Anyway, that's by the by. This is the gist of his piece.

How to delete your X account after Elon Musk’s ‘vile’ site helps fuel far-right riots.

Labour minister Jess Phillips labelled the platform “a place of misery”, while Liverpool mayor Steve Rotheram, said it is time for politicians to consider leaving the platform.

Liverpool mayor Steve Rotheram’s constituency covers Southport, where three children were killed last month in an attack widely misattributed on social media to an asylum seeker, sparking hate speech and helping to fuel the far-right riots.

Read through the article here. At the end it tells of how you can leave X previously known as Twitter. Read the comments, thankfully not everyone is sleepwalking into a globalist world, and values the rights to say what you think.
Personally I would like to see all main stream media shut down. Newspapers, television, and radio. They are the ones brainwashing anyone who is susceptible to absorbing all their mis information.
A lovely start to the day. I will spend some time outside.
Thanks for popping in. Toodle pip.   ilona

  1. Societies need diversity of opinion and diversity of ways to express and exchange those opinions. Currently, MSM is essentially a monoculture, and like all monocultures is susceptible to infection by parasites. We see this every day in which the same stories circulate across most outlets, uncritically reproduced. We desperately need more diversity - more GBNews, more X, more SubStack, more Daily Sceptic etc.

    1. If everybody decided to voice their opinions on what is going on, then we would be able to have healthy discussions on what is the best way to tackle problems. Instead we have the Government trying to silence anyone by threatening to arrest them and lock them up. It makes you wonder what they are trying to hide.

I am half way through watching a video which discusses clear and concise ideas on how to solve Britain's deep problems. I will put it on the Rabbit Hole tomorrow. Douglas Carswell knows exactly what should be happening.

  2. You’ve got this wrong.
It’s the other way round .
It’s social media brainwashing anyone who is susceptible to absorbing misinformation

    1. And I say, you have got this wrong. You can believe what you want to believe. This post is about one group of people trying to silence another. You have just tried to silence me. You have not offered anything to back up your claim.

    2. I agree with anonymous, and in no way would ever try to silence you, Ilona. The mainstream media is definitely a problem with controlling information, but the flip side is that on sites like x people who have no training, no education, and no life experience spread misinformation to other like mind people without facts. (again, I'm not accusing you of this) I have been absolutely shocked at basic, easily verifiable facts that people don't believe. I don't know what the answer is

    3. The answer is get your information from many different sources. How do you know that the people who post on Twitter have no training, no education, and no life experiences?
That's a very sweeping statement, of which you have no proof.

  3. I turned off the news for three weeks this summer. It was very freeing. Now if I want information about something I just look for that topic. No more browsing. I always came away from that irritated. Thank you for all the beautiful photos you post. It is so fun for an American to see your villages, natural beauty, and wonderful old architecture.

    1. Best way, Debby. I post my photo's to show how proud I am of my country. When you recognise the bullshit that is bandied about it does indeed free you up to go about your daily business, with a degree of hope that things will get better eventually.

  4. Social media is brainwashing disgruntled people with misinformation who feel they are being left behind .

    1. And how do you know that? Your brief comment leads me to believe that you have been brainwashed. Are you human or are you AI generated?

    1. What is the definition of mis information? Something that someone says which has no substance to back up the claims made. Main stream media make stuff up all the time, they do it to sell newspapers, and advertising on television. Another word for it is lies. The riots occurred because people are frustrated that their country is being taken over by people arriving on boats across the channel. The ramifications of this activity will change the fabric of life as we know it. I don't blame people wanting a better life, but when we are told they are fleeing war, that just isn't true.

    2. It was widely reported on social media that the killer was an illegal immigrant, which stirred up some people who are concerned about immigration and the change it is having on the country. The killer, as we now know, is British. Born in Wales.

    3. When a crime happens like a stabbing, or a riot, or a shooting, the first thing the authorities do is to hide any information about the suspect. They don't want to show the colour of his skin, they don't want to reveal his name. It is natural that people draw their own conclusions as to who it might be. Eventually word gets out and often the first guesses are right. He may have been born in Wales, but I would ask how was he brought up. This would influence how he sees himself. Welsh or Romanian.

    4. You are getting things muddled. The Welsh person had no contact with Romania.

    5. Substitute the word foreign for the word Romanian. There are now so many people from all across the world being welcomed into this country, and the number of stabbings is rising almost daily, it's hard to keep track of it all. It is a situation we must not ignore.

  6. I agree with the comments above that social media does give out misleading information. Newspapers are not above not publishing items that could affect them, e.g. about one of their advertisers. However if we decide to air our views we must expect to have a debate with those who do not have the same views.

    1. People must air their views, whichever side of the fence they stand on. A balanced debate is necessary. But when one side has all the money, they have all the clout, that does not make a balanced debate. Social media is reliant on people reporting on what they see happening on the ground. There are platforms which allow them to do that. They have to raise their money to cover for expenses, from likeminded supporters. Main stream media raise hundreds of thousands of £'s from those who have a vested interest in keeping the lies going. The world is divided between those who have, and those who have not. Those who shout the loudest get heard. The little people have a mountain to climb and will use any method available to state their case.

And by the way, I don't offer my blog as a forum for disgruntled people to spout off about their beliefs. If people feel so passionate about something they should start their own blog. Invite others to join them. Find their own tribe.

    1. Thank you Sandra. I can't access the internet while I am on the move, I don't have a smart phone. I have seen this site mentioned on a lot of vanlife videos. I believe it is useful for those who travel around.

    1. Thank you. Your suggestion makes sense. I do hardly any planning before I go. I check maps of where I might go, place names, events, attractions, scenery, etc. I like the idea of being free to go wherever I like. This is exactly the opposite of where I needed to be when I was driving a lorry. I am free of the shackles of following a set route and a time table.

  9. I have just watched Katie's message and I have to say it is absolutely spot on. I feel very empowered, listening to her is like a breath of fresh air. Thank goodness we have people like her to speak out without fear of recriminations. Thanks for sharing Ilona.

    1. Katie has had her fair share of trolls, being sued, and thrown out of Australia. She is in prime position to share her insider knowledge. She has nothing to lose so she speaks the truth.

    1. People who move around the world often keep some of their ethnicity as they integrate into the new society they have joined. For some families this happens quite quickly because they genuinely want to start a new life. For others it may take several generations. For a few they may never integrate into the new way of life.

For the record, I don't support far right or far left, whatever they are. I prefer to take the middle ground and go with my gut instincts of what is right and what is wrong. Perhaps you could enlighten me on your definition of 'far right'. Your comment would be more valuable as a contribution to this post, rather than you attacking me with your unfounded presumptions.

    1. Your comment is a good example of how words can be misconstrued, and twisted into the exact opposite of what is factual and true.

I don't belong to any groups. I am able to interpret what I see and what I read, and make my own mind up. Colour doesn't come into it. Black, white, brown, who cares.

  12. We have a proverb that says "When a cat has kittens in a stable it doesn´t make them horses". A lot of immigrants say they are proud of their roots and want to give their traditions on to their children. And these tradition often clashes with the way of life in Europe. There is so much talk about integration. In my opinion, You don´t get integrated, you have to integrate yourself.

  13. I listened to a new video by Katie this morning, basically the message is we live in an irrational society, so trying to be rational is a problem. Also mentions two tier policing. So refreshing to listen to.
