Guess where I've been

I've had a cracking day out today. The sun was shining so I got myself organised. Snacks and drinks in the bag. Comfy footwear and warm jacket. I have taken lots of photo, and made two videos so look out for them in the next few days. Can you guess where I've been?

Thanks for popping in. We'll catch up tomorrow. Toodle pip.   ilona

  1. Looks like Lincoln Cathedral to me. I've just been reading about it in the 12th C in Ken Follett's brilliant book The Pillars of the Earth. It was when the factions of King Stephen and Queen Matilda were fighting and Stephens' army's horses were stabled in the cloisters! 1141 it was and King Stephen lost and was taken prisoner and put into Bristol Castle. I did a rerun of two blog posts about the interior of Lincoln Cathedral in the past week. I'd love to go there again, but it ain't gonna happen now I am a full time carer for my husband.

    2. Thanks Meanqueen. I have to content myself with "bothering" the local old churches nowadays, but there are some gems amongst those too, especially the ones with Medieval architecture by the Hereford School.

  2. I do believe that's Lincoln Cathedral! Well under rated I think. Bit of trivia, my Dad died at the top of the main tower in 1992. He was an Electrician.

  3. Last time I went there I was horrified to see all of the seating was plastic chairs. I suppose they could use the floor space when removed. They have to make money for the upkeep don't they? Your photo's are lovely tho. Lovely day.
