Announcement

Due to the questionable authenticity of an increased volume of comment offerings, I have instructed my admin team to delay authorisation to publish. Research costs are escalating, and many more hours are needed to verify certain statements. Fact checking is a very expensive business. One of my team members has already been headhunted and has moved to pastures new.

My workload is increasing by the day. Please be aware that comments may take some time to appear on the blog. We are working with a reduced team, and until such time when recruitment of new team members can be found, your comment may not appear for several days. A new system has been put into place to selectively categorise comments according to urgency, to ensure a smooth transition between blog posts.

Your attention to this matter is appreciated.

Yours sincerely,

The Boss.

A trucking good weekend.

I've just noticed that there was a big trucking event on today. The East Coast Truckers Club did their 39th  annual convoy for disabled and disadvantaged children. I remember this from years ago. They take them for a day out at Great Yarmouth.

80+ trucks in this convoy. Police escorting.

Watch that car try and get out. Ha ha. Couldn't wait.

I've been talking to a Romanian Trucker, yesterday and today. He has been parked up on the Industrial Estate since Friday. He is due to pick up a load on Tuesday morning nearby. He didn't seem to be bothered about having to wait around for so long. He has a top of the range Volvo cab with home comforts. He has a chair and cooking facilities in the trailer. When I finished my picking today I asked him if he wants me to show him a circular walk around the pond. He was pleased about that. I think he was glad of the company. We chatted about the current situation. He told me what it is like in Romania. I am able to report that he is wide awake, and they have similar political problems. I showed him some photo's of the types of work that I have done. He says he works six weeks away then goes home for a break.

I must get on. I am getting a bit behind with posting, such a lot to talk about, and a video to upload.

Frickin heck

Here's a treat for the ladies. I am hooked on this good looking guy. Can't take my eyes off him. Who has seen Sam Fricker? An Australian diver, with the most gorgeous body. Why aren't all men like this. 😎😍😘 If you want to see more of Sam, hit his yoootooob Channel Or his Faceboook page.
Today I finished the job I started on Friday. Another bag added to the pile.
These are my hand written labels I use, so the Council will know it is not a fly tip.

What's in the pan for dinner tonight. A tasty stir fry. Quorn chunks, chopped onions, broccoli, spinach, noodles. I made two portions, one for tomorrow.

Thanks for popping in. Toodle pip.   ilona

Funeral

Oh dear, my baby is broken. Sorry baby but we will have to have a funeral. Which would you like, burial or cremation? You have done well to last 70 years. Sorry that you have been confined to the top shelf in the wardrobe for 25 years. Never mind. I have created a memorial.

I knew this glass I found on the roadside would be useful for something.

There you go. Looks much better in a group setting.

I'll have a look through this mail order catalogue. These babies are much more lifelike these days. Not AI, but a new breed of plastic dolls.

Have a good weekend. Toodle pip.   ilona

That's a shame

 Truckfest

⚠️Important message to everyone joining us this weekend at TRUCKFEST. There is now zero tolerance on air horns at any of the TRUCKFEST events. It isn’t fair on your neighbours at TRUCKFEST or the local residents.
From now on this can lead to exclusion from the event and future TRUCKFEST events. We don’t want to spoil anyone’s enjoyment but it has to stop! The alternative is to lose the good will of our venues. Our TRUCKFEST security team will be helping us identify those who are spoiling it for everyone. Thank you for your help and here’s to a fantastic weekend ahead.
The TRUCKFEST Team 😀

Air horns have always been a big part of a Truck Show. Big boys and their toys. A competitive streak to outblast each other. Mine is bigger and loudest.
Well it seems that now the moaners and groaners have put a stop to all that malarkey. How dare people have such fun. For goodness sake, it's only two days. As usual it's all about money. Follow the rules or you won't be able to come back next year.
Have a nice day. Check in later for some more photo's.

Morning banter.

 Good morning.

Start the day with a laugh, that's what I say. 😍😆😁

The first bin wagon of the day has just been. There will be another one along later. The recycling system has changed, and we have a new crew. These are here to empty the garden waste bins. They are smartly dressed, new orange gear so they can be seen, and they have a very modern newish Mercedes truck.

I think they were getting a bit stuck up the other end of the road, with all the parked cars. I heard the reversing bleeper a few times as they tried to navigate their way around a blockage. As I fetch the empty bins back, mine and the neighbours, I like to give them a chocolate bar as a thanks. One of them looked very young, a new boy I thought. I asked him how old he is, and does he like this job. A bit of banter always goes down well. He is 21, and likes the job.

As I am typing this, the second wagon turns up to empty the recycling bins. More chocolate handed out. This driver was able to negotiate the parked cars with ease. As you would expect, with a female driver. 😜👩👅 Well done Missy.

Now it's time to get ready for Coffee Morning. It's looking like another sunny day, yipeeeeee.

Forthcoming event.

This is on the North Bank. You can walk across the Humber bridge from North Lincolnshire and it won't cost you a penny. You can get the 350 bus from Barton and if you have a bus pass it won't cost you anything. Or you can drive across the bridge, but beware you need to set up an app with the web site to pay for your crossing. Rumour has it that the new toll booth free system is not working too well. People are missing the deadlines to pay, they are getting fined, and their paid for in advance deposits are getting wiped, out to pay their fines. If you live on the North Bank all will be hunkydory. The market is free to visitors.

Mark it on the calendar.

Party Political Broadcast

Good morning.
It's a bit overcast, no sun as yet but we can live in hope. Look on the bright side, it's not raining.
WARNING. This is a politically incorrect post. It is said that you shouldn't judge a book by it's cover, but what is the first thing you see in front of your eyes. My gut instinct speaks to me. Yep, he is good looking, or nope, not to my liking.
My first reaction on seeing Pierre Poilievre on my screen was WOW, now that is eye candy. As soon as he opened his mouth I just knew. I'm going to like this man. The voice, deep and velvety. Never heard of him before, but I was lured into listening to the whole interview. Naughty me, judging him on his looks.
Watch this interview here.  7,909 comments and all positive.
About TRIGGERnometry: Stand-up comedians Konstantin Kisin (@konstantinkisin) and Francis Foster (@francisjfoster) make sense of politics, economics, free speech, AI, drug policy and WW3 with the help of presidential advisors, renowned economists, award-winning journalists, controversial writers, leading scientists and notorious comedians.
Remember this fiasco? Trudeau made a right pigs ear of it didn't he.
Trudeau might have been good looking but what came out of his mouth was pathetic.

On the other hand, Pierre is one gorgeous hunk, with ooodles of common sense. You get the full package here.

I think we should start a campaign to find the sexiest man on the planet. I nominate Pierre.

Painting pylons

Good evening.
Tiredness is catching up with me now. I went to Kingston upon Hull this afternoon. On the way to Barton to get the bus I spotted two men working on a pylon. Had to ask them what they were doing. On closer inspection I see they are covered in paint. One of them came down to have a chat with me. The third one came out of his van.
They were such fun, telling me all about their job. I asked if I could put their picture on my blog. They offered to pose, and said, yeah, sure.

Now I am yawning so I will cut this short. I have some photo's of Hull which I will post tomorrow.

Ladies welcome

 Hello again.

Although I am not a feminist, or a man hater, I quite like this idea. A group of ladies, having a laugh, swapping stories, and a cuppa, or even a pint of beer. Reminds me of the Lady Truckers Club, the meetings we used to have at the Truckshows. Here are the details if you might like to meet like minded people.

Join us at VanLife Fest, the family-friendly campervan extravaganza situated at Scampston Hall, near the charming town of Malton, North Yorkshire. Mark your calendars for June 19-21, 2026, and immerse yourself in a weekend of endless excitement, live music, a bustling trade village, and FREE family entertainment.

Now I must get some breakfast. Catch ya later.  Toodle pip.   ilona

Three minutes of your time.

Ladyva is in London. Just passing through.
How come someone can be so beautiful, and have so much talent, and she can sing too. Makes you sick, doesn't it. 😁😂😃😄🎹🎹🎹  ilona

Happy Birthday Lisa.

Good afternoon.
This morning it was back to normal after the Christmas break. We start the year at Crafty Club with a Birthday. The lovely Lisa is 50. She had lots of presents to unwrap. There was 13 of us in attendance, plus one cute little sausage dog which Becci brought with her. Lots of food to scoff, lots of cake.
The mood was jolly, not much crafting was done, but I wanted to add a few more stitches to the mandala. A glass of wine, a slice of pizza, some nibbles, and cake. That will be my lunch today, don't need to make any.

Monday morning in a warm Village Hall. Perfect.

Now it's almost 3pm and I must take Billy a walk before darkness arrives.

Thanks for popping in. See ya soon. Toodle pip.   ilona

Magical Fairyland at Elsham Hall.

Follow me. I will take you to the Enchanted Forest at Elsham Hall. As you walk through the courtyard and step through the gate you are greeted by a beautiful magical fairyland. Where to look first, I was in awe.
The path is well mapped out with fairylights on the ground. It's a one way system so people don't get in each others way. I was there early. At 5pm when it opened a few people had arrived. Later on the car park filled to overflowing. I walked around once and took the photo's, then walked round a second time to record two videos. You could walk around as many times as you like between 5pm and 9pm when it closed. Twice was enough for me, I had the pictures I wanted.
There were staff and volunteers dotted around to make sure people didn't stray from the route. They were there to help if anyone needed assistance.
A lot of thought must have gone into this. Someone with an artistic talent had to work out the best colour combinations when planning where to place the lights. Who would have thought, a blue tree with splash of orange up through the centre of it.

Follow me around. The first ten minutes. I also recorded a short 6 minute video which I will put up tomorrow, along with more photographs.
Only two more days left of this show, 23rd and 24th. I am sure they will be bringing it back next year.
Thanks for popping in. Toodle pip.   ilona
